Speed Beez...

They are a little pricier but damn they are nice and they make a 7 shot loader.  Have a few for my 686 plus.  Safariland loades are decent for the price but Speed Beez are the tits.

I use either a speed strip or a Safariland Comp II. Sadly they don't make the Comp II model for 7 shot models.

I have two 686-4 models at Pinnacle getting 3 inch barrels. They are done and I get to pick them up Monday, can't wait.

@Grottski - How would you say the Speed Beez are for daily carry? I'm thinking about trying one but some of the reviews say they are better suited for range trips than carry.

Currently using 5 Star speedloaders for my LCR since Safariland doesn't seem to want to manufacture anything new.

I hate knobs on speedloaders though.

Yup I have to agree wit OP, I love my 340pd.  Edc has never felt so comfortable.

I finally swapped the skull clip for a standard black Emerson clip and all is now right in the world.

My first carry revolver was a 2" security six 357. I still carry it sometimes.

I got an LCR in 357, as a replacement...but nearly always go with the SS when carrying a small revolver

Hard to beat for reliability. Very little chance of coming out of battery, can sit forever loaded, and still very likely to work when needed, even when neglected.

357 shines when it has enough barrel, at least 6" and the more, the better. snub nosed sixguns leave a lot of unburned power, muzzle blast, wasted money and recoil that doesn't really get used.

I mean why get a 357 when it's severely handicapped. It's not reaching "357 levels" from a 2" barrel.

with a 357, I want at least a 6" full size device, with a 2" I think 38 special or something milder makes more sense all around.

These magnums really shine from carbine barrels, so a full size 6" and a 18" or so are great combinations.

A 9mm revolver is an interesting concept but you need these special clips.

44" magnum snub is another dumb idea IMO .

Would throw down money for a new production python.

But they'll probably ruin it with tritium sights and a hideous finish.

I carry a humpty dumpty [hammerless] S&W snubbie or a Colt Detective special a lot if I don't carry my Colt Defender.

Don't feel under gunned.

I carry a 642 sometimes.

I had to de-horn the cylinder release

put some HOGUE TAMER grips on it.

Got 1000 rounds of brass, fired up the DILLON and started practicing

I feel pretty confidant with it now

They are a bit bigger than the safariland comp 2 and HKS style loaders.  When I carry my 686 I'm usually wearing cargo pants.  I just drop one in a cargo pocket and go.  Can be little annoying but it works for me.  Same guy I know who carrys the 642 (he turned me on to the speed beez) he had kydex pouches made that he loves.

Starting a new job tomorrow, where I’m allowed (tacitly encouraged, actually) to carry concealed.

Dress code means I’m likely to go back to front-pocket carry, which means my beloved bobbed-hammer, no-lock, old-school hammer-mounted firing pin Smith 37 is coming out of the safe again.

I have a 3" 686 round-butt that was a Customs Service trade-in.
I paid $230 for it in 1994, practically unfired.

My backpacker balks at your opinion

It’s light, handy, and extremely accurate at extended pistol ranges. Not positive on the ballistics but one decent sized  central Texas pig took one through the neck into the chest at about 50’, DRT.

I agree, more barrel is better for speed and powder burn, but the ballistic data is readily available, .357 has significant advantages over .38 out of short barrels, google it.

I enjoy shooting g revolvers and infrequently carry an old 2 inch Smith model 10.  Nostalgia?  Don't know.  Every time I do I am reminded that their day has passed, and for the same size, weight, and ballistics, there is a fine modern semi auto, every bit as reliable, with better sights and two to three times the capacity.
