Compare this movie to the box office receipts of “Crazy Rich Asians” an American movie with 100% Asian cast, USA & Canada receipts are 174 million dollars. Every Asian American family member came out of the woodwork to see this movie. Fact 1. Now according to HHS percent population of Asian Americans in the USA is 5.7 percent - reference https://minorityhealth.hhs.gov/omh/browse.aspx?lvl=3&lvlid=63 Fact 2. Percent of population that identify themselves are Gay (LGBT) is 7.1 percent, - Gallup poll reference https://news.gallup.com/poll/332522/percentage-americans-lgbt.aspx According to Gallup there are more Gays (LGBT) than identifiable Asian faces in the USA. The question remains “Why didn’t the Gay community show up at the box office to see this movie?” Yeah I know, facts and math are racist. |
