cop steals nudes from phone.
Woman handed her phone to a cop on a traffic stop to show proof of insurance. He takes it back to his car and steals nudes. Lucky he stopped there. With saved passwords he could of done a lot more. Open your browser and make a huge order on Amazon. Delivered to a vacant address. Seems like just taking the ticket is better than handing unlocked phone to anyone. |

So I guess keeping a print-out of my insurance in my glove compartment makes me a Boomer now.
|
|
25K?
Needs to be 250K. And a permanent registration on the sexual predator list. |
|
If you had nudes on your phone, why on earth would you give it to ta stranger?
|
|
25k???
Ya, they should go cut her a check today. That is a lot worse than a 25k lawsuit. If FBI is investigating the guy, something else is up unless they just used the local FBI for a forensic on his phone. |
|
|
How did the FBI discover this? And figure out who the victim was?
|
|
I eliminate the traffic stop and just send my nudes off to the local police .

I've been saying this for years. Never hand law enforcement your unlocked phone, or even a locked phone. In the event they confiscate it for "evidence" and get it unlocked via a warrant. It's the digital equivalent of inviting the man into your life.

... The lawsuit said the woman and her husband have “good reason to believe (the officer) has done the exact same thing to other (people) in Florissant.” ... [Lawsuit claims:] The city of Florissant...“hired (the officer) despite red flags that would indicate that (he) was a depraved predator who should not be policing the community and would demonstrate a threat to the community, particularly young women...Florissant has received complaints about (the officer’s) inappropriate behavior in the past and chose to retain him, … especially considering he pulled over multiple young women with pretextual stops, took their unlocked phones back to his police vehicle, and nonconsensually copied their naked photographs.” |

In some states, such as mine, you have to sue for the minimum amount to meet the jurisdictional requirements of the circuit court. In my case that’s $25,000. So just about every lawsuit that gets filed is for $25,000. I’m sure she’ll ask for more.

If you unlock and hand your phone to a police officer, you literally deserve whatever the fuck they do to you.
How fucking stupid do you have to be? Seriously. How can a person that dumb remember to breath oxygen? |

The police can scan your thumb against your will, but a password must be court ordered if declined by citizen. |

I won't even touch it. But lots of folks will basically toss you their phone. I prefer the old fashioned POI with paper. |

What's the point of becoming a cop if you can't do stuff like this?

She probably thought the cop would let her off if he saw her nekids.

Really the only time I'll hand over my phone is at someplace like the feed store if they need to manual enter a product number I took a photo of. And that's only if there's no barcode they can scan while I hold the phone. Just keep paper copies of things. They don't run out of battery. |

Had a trainee do this several years ago. He was prior officer at local pd and came to county. We were 2 weeks into training and I knew about his scetchy past. Told him to not try that shit here cause it wouldn't fly. He said it was all behind him. We find a meth lab at a trailer and he gets ahold of the fat chick's phone that lived there. Sent himself some pics from her phone. Never knew it happened until a year later when I get pulled into IA asking about it. He said I sent them as a joke. She went to prison and got out a year later, noticed the text messages cause stupid didn't delete them from her phone so she had his number. He got canned. Dude was uber Christian and cheated on his wife alot. The nerve of some people. Also a chubby chaser.

The last time I got pulled over I could not find my Insurance card and told the officer from the SO. He said "that's ok, I saw it online".
Apparently both the SO and PD here have access to that info by entering your license plate number on their in-car computer. He just pulled me over because of a light being out, which was probably more of an excuse since it was 3:45 a.m. No ticket. I was on the way to work and replaced the light on the way home from work. |
