Stripped the head of a screw on my Staccato XC. Reached out to Staccato and they mailed me 4 new ones - free of charge. They also included some sweet swag!  (Meanwhile I had already replaced them with some aftermarket Torx bit ones, but now I have spares for my P)

Finally got my C2 a few weeks ago! Opted for the full-size P grip frame, and glad I did. I call it my "C2-X" Fits my hand better than the compact grip. Takes flush fit 17-round mags and the 20-round mags fit great also. Also asked for the DLC treated barrel. An outstanding pistol that shoots better than any other handgun I own! Attached File |

It is a 90% OEM Springfield 5” Prodigy that I have been left unattended with.   It started put as a stock Prodigy and is a Prodigy slide and frame, both of which have been significantly (but at this time) mostly cosmetically modified with the goal of trying to make the Prodigy as close to a double stack version of the Operator, hence the “Proderator” (PRODigy + opERATOR) portmanteau. The slide had the ball cut extended to match the length of the Operator and OEM bull barrel replaced with a bushing barrel (all 5” Prodigies I’ve seen come already cut for a bushing) donated from a 9MM Operator where the original owner had replaced the barrel with a threaded barrel, and the frame was cut down to match to line up with the new ball cut, though I opted to go for a straight cut instead of a slant cut due to the slightly different rail slot locations (an exactly matching slant cut would have put the end of the rail on a groove rather than a lug. The grip module has also been replaced with an MJD grip module that I likewise heavily reprofiled and checkered to more closely resemble the look and feel of a single-stack 1911, including rounding the trigger guard, back-end reduction and re-profiling, and high cut front strap, and woodgrain pattern grip tape applied. I’ve also since secured slotted 10x32 grip screws and installed the “dummy” grip screws. Once the raw re-shaping of the frame and grip are completed, I’ll give her the same “workover” I normally give my 1911s, including new ignition parts, additional extended controls, fitting a new bushing and other minor barrel work if needed, and then just deciding how I want to have her refinished and blaze away. ~Augee |

Proderator Update: Finished up the frame work for now I think and slapped some cold blue on it for temporary protection until refinishing, still have some work to do on her, but I think I’m closing in on the most boring and nondescript Custom 2011 possible—the goal is that no one notices that it’s not a single-stack 1911 until they take a close look.  It’s not a totally unrelated project to my “Day Job,” wanted to try to build my perfect “duty-style” 2011 for my night time antics, and can’t wait to get her out under NVGs.   ~Augee |

Full custom Rich Dettlehouser (Canyon Creek Customs) build on a Springfield widebody frame. 6" slide cut back, BarSto barrel, Bomar rear. Checkered cocking serrations, snakeskin slide top, milling everywhere, squared and checkered trigger guard. Its unbelievably nice, probably 20 years old, and likely never fired. (I stole it for $699 yesterday).

It apparently takes Para mags. It came with one magazine. I think I will buy a MecGar P16, 18rd mag and see if it fits. I think MBX makes Para mags, but they fuck off expensive.
