Heavily considering the G43x MOS for AIWB carry. 15 rounds with the aftermarket mags at that size is pretty awesome. Glock should follow the premise of that magazine on future guns! I wonder how many rounds they could fit into the guns that are 2" wide... ??  I suspect that the G43x will carry much more comfortably than a G19.

I want to put a red dot on it and am considering a weapons light.  Doesn't seem like there are a ton of options out there.  What are the best ones?  Either Surefire or Streamlight and Holosun or Trijicon.  If the Surefire light was 500 lumens, I'd probably go with that.

How easy to shoot is the gun compared to a G19?  I suspect its snappier and a little harder to shoot at distance, say 25 yards.  Anyone have feedback on this?  Does it make much of a difference?  I suspect that the length difference for shootability is somewhat mitigated by the red dot - the sight radius no longer matters.

Thanks!

The 43 fits small hands and the grips feel slick to me.  It doesn't matter what you carry, if you can't hold it to shoot well.

In my case, the 19 is as small as I can go and it carries just fine.

I've carried a G19 in a CrossBreed SuperTuck Deluxe everyay since January 2011. Then I bought a G43X when the second version (black slide) came out and started carrying that to break in the crossbreed holster that I bought for it. My G19 has been sitting on top of the safe ever since. The G43X just dissappears compared to the G19. I have the Shield Arms mags and they are awesome, I just can't find a reason to continue carrying the G19 when the G43X ticks off all the boxes that the G19 does but is more compact.

get both

Nope. I use the really rough stuff on other guns but this one is perfect for carry. No issues with it coming off either with sweat.

The people who claim that the 43 or even the 43X as snappy IMO, are unaware that they're recoil sensitive.

I have yet to feel one bit of snap at all, and my daily carry is the 43X.

I've had the 19 and the 26. Neither shot well in my hand at all. They also didn't carry well either for that matter too as far as appendix goes. So I gave the 43 a try. It was awesome. No discomfort all damn day and most importantly, no printing. But I wasn't a fan of it's grip being that short. So when the 43X came out I had to get one. man I felt like I finally had the grail carry gun of Glocks.

I've since added Talon rubber grips to mine along with a Tangodown slide racker back plate replacement and a TLR-6. Perfect.

I do plan on getting the 43X MOS to replace the 43X for winter carry and strong side OWB carry. I'm going to add a micro comp which will turn the 43X into a G48 in size and considering that the 48 is a 19 length which is super uncomfortable to carry appendix at least for me, should be a a very good jack of all trades to get back home with. Will add the same accessories too as I do now with the regular 43X but will substitute the TLR-6 for a TLR-7 SUB instead.

Quite honestly I have never felt undergunned with the OEM 10 round mags at all. And if I should ever find myself needing more firepower, well I have an AR15 road buddy for that. But at that point I shouldn't even be there at all so the 43X it is.

FWIW, I prefer the G17 over them all but since I can't carry it well without printing or being not uncomfortable all dang day, the 43X somehow actually feels more shootable in my hands. Weird, but it's true.

Good luck in your decision making process.

With my body type and clothing, I can't conceal a G19 to save my life. The pic below is my G19 in a Phlster Floodlight holster. I do carry a G48 very comfortably, though. A little bit snappier, but the biggest adjustment is the crappy trigger. Even with a Ghost EDGE connector and twenty five cent trigger job, and the trigger now pulling at about 4.25 lbs, it's a lot stiffer. I recently changed out the trigger shoe to an Overwatch Precision Poly DAT and it's much better. But still doesn't shoot as nice as my G19 and I'd rather use it. That said, being that I'd never carry the G19 due to not being able to hide it, the G48 is the easy choice for me

Any issues with the Shield Arms 15 round magazines?

Do they make something similar for the G48 but in a higher capacity?

They are compatible with the 43X and 48 only.

I only use stock magazines so I have no answer for reliability of any aftermarket.

Yup get both.  I havent proven my SA mags 100% yet so I still roll OEM 10 rounders for now.  The 19 has that slight advantage for me until I get them proven.

Mine wears tiny holes in my t-shirts, caused by rubbing on the seatbelt buckle of my ATV.  That sandpaper texture would rub a gaping hole in probably one ride.

A few of us at work have been running the SA mags (gen1).  I'm only at 2k trouble free rounds between 3 mags.  I bought two gen2 mags recently.

One of the guys had the original 43X with the silver slide and he had some issues but a newer +coil spring took care of his issues.

eta-
the 43x and 48 take the same mags.

Maybe I should sell my Kahr P380 and replace it with the G43x and get a 19 for bigger work.

I think I need to get a poster of all the glock models and put it on my wall so I can follow half of this discussion haha.

I'm in the process of trying to sell my 19 (fund suppressors) because I don't shoot or carry it since getting a 48, then selling that for a 43X MOS. Bigger work and competition gets my 17 as I've always shot it better than my 19. 43X (and the 48) are definitely a little snappier than my 19, but I recently added the same grip as above and that should make a pretty big difference. I also added an Overwath Precicion PolyDAT shoe and a Ghost Edge Pro connector. The combo helped the trigger a bunch.

I currently carry a G26 which I love.  However I’m looking to pick up G43X MOS in the future.  When I do I’ll set it up with a TLR-7 SUB and Holosun 507K.  I’m big a Surefure fan and love my RMR’s but in the smaller carry guns I feel like Streamlight and Holosun have edged them out.

My 43x with RMRcc, TLR-7sub, and PMM barrel/compensator. In stock form I found the recoil to be manageable, but the grips were slippery and the gun seemed to have a higher rotational moment than my G19. The talon grips help a bunch with the grip texture, and the mag well has a lip on the front that stabilizes against rotational force really well. The compensator helps a bunch too, especially shooting +P loads.

So I discovered that I live about two hours away from the shield arms headquarters. I sent them an email and told them that I don't want the gun if their mags won't work 99.9% of the time in it. Said that if I have trouble with it, I will bring the gun to them to figure it out. I asked them if they are confident we can get it to run and if I should buy the gun. We shall see what they say!

I have had all 3 and still have my 19's if that helps you. I will tell you that the 43x/48 (more so the 43x) shoots like a small gun with the recoil and muzzle flip. The 19 shoots like a medium size gun and shoots like a medium size gun with less recoil and muzzle flip. And yes, if you shoot them side by side, there is a definite difference.. i know some guys that have had issues with the 15 rnd mags that are after market for these and since I have shot, carried on/off duty with my 19, I am staying with my 19's, period.

Are the ones saying that it's a difference in "flip" are also the ones that think anything bigger than a 9 is too snappy?

I don't think many here saying it know that they're recoil sensitive, or just using an excuse.

The 43X isn't snappy to me. I have a G45 and a G17, they have a bit less flip but the recoil isn't snappy at all on a 43X. I'm also not recoil sensitive so there is that too.

I dunno about that. Some in here act like shooting a 45 ACP as if it's a 44 magnum. If it's for street cred trying to fit in with the cool kids and just an just an act, remains to be seen.

But I actually know someone who's recoil sensitive, he never wanted to admit it and probably didn't even know he actually was for a very long time until he shot his first 9. Since then he won't even touch anything unless it's a 9 or a 38 Special as far as handguns go.

So there's something to it as far as what I had said earlier IMO.

As with all things - there are trade offs.

I owned a g43x and have shot my buddies g48.  I prefer the g19. When it's game time the g19 is just a better gun to shoot and I also appreciate that the Glock oem mag is the most overbuilt and ubiquitous pistol mag ever.  I would not carry an aftermarket mag until it had many more years of use in the wild.

The g43x/g48 are easier to carry and are accurate but im Faster and more accurate with a g19. I ccw them appendix without issue.

I’ve been carrying a Glock 19 daily for over 20 years. I have a 43 that serves as my BUG/primary for running. I’ve had a 48 since before they were released to the public but I very rarely carry it. Besides the capacity disadvantage, the 48 shoots more like the 43 than the 19 for me.

Zero more.

The principle of the S15 is thinner walls allowing a double stack mag the same width as the factory single stack. All of the double stack are already...double stack.
