If you're looking for a way to fill your evening...

Gun was filthy after 5-10 years of regular use and (admittedly) a bit of neglect in the maintenance department, so I did a detail strip and deep clean. Looks and feels like new (except for all the finish wear...)!

The detail strip and reassembly isn't as bad as I thought...went much better than my first attempt at field stripping and reassembly as a new MKII owner.

Did a little experimenting today.
I wasn't happy with the few times my slide had rusted. Even when oiled, I've managed to sweat some brown spots on it. So I shot it with some Duplicolor wheel paint.

New Model Super Single Six convertable 5.5" (22LR/WMR) and New Model Blackhawk 6.5" .41 Magnum.  Didn't like the checkered grips on the new (2012) Blackhawk so switched them around with the old Single Six's walnut.

I've been wanting one of these for a long time. Finally found them in stock locally. I had a set of slim VZ Grips I had for another 1911 project, but decided to put them on this one. So far it has decent slide/barrel/frame fit especially for a production gun. It has all the features on a 1911 that I'd like other than maybe a magwell. I call it my Poor Mans Gunsite 1911. I hope it shoots as nice as it looks.

New to the forum
Photographing a rifle is tough
Everybody has seen these models,  but I just picked up the Mark 1, and for a rim fire pistol it is fun to shoot
Very accurate

I've never liked the looks of the 22/45 but with the wrap around rubber grips and red dot  they look really cool....I may have to be one now .  One of those in .22 mag would make a great trail gun.
