Kimber Tactical Custom II, Heinie Straight-Eight Slant Pros, VZ Operator grips. GI rod & plug, 16 lb recoil spring, 19lb mainspring (IIRC). Magwell was stolen for my TLE/RL2. :) I know the stainless grip screws aren't very "tactical" but the blued ones kept rusting.

Here's my Kimber.....

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a47/srfl/1911s/KimberCombatCarry.jpg

........it's a Combat Carry, which is a Series I gun in .45 ACP made before the Compact CDP but includes the latter gun's bells n' whistles: alloy Officer ACP-type frame, Commander-sized stainless steel slide, a complete "melt" job, 30 LPI checkering, ambi safeties, adjustable trigger, night sights and a bushingless bull barrel with captive recoil spring assembly.

Very SWWWWEEEEEETT!!! What kind of ambi safety is that.

I think the ambi safety is a Kinggs, it is off of an old race gun.

I have the correct Kimber safety, however, after I blended it to match the Ed Brown grip safety and had it bead blasted, the black oxide that we used to refinish the stainless steel frame did not color it at all! The frame came out looking like grey parkerizing, so I put an old GI slide stop on it that matches the color. Kimber will not refinish small parts.

I am tryin to find some one in the Atlanta area to black oxide the frame and safety for me. Or I might parkerize the rest of the gun to match. Not correct, but it would look cool!

Hi and thanks,

The grips are not wraparounds but a pair of "Grit Grips" and a piece of 3M non skid tape placed on the front strap and ending under the grips for a uniform look.

My Kimber family.  The Kimber slide in the blue box is something that I just got the other day.  It's a .22 rimfire replacement slide and (2) magazines for plinking.  I've never used it so I'll find out next weekend how well it functions.

Here's one of two.  Identical twins except for the serial numbers.

This one gets carried, shot in the rain, taken camping and hiking, etc.  So does the other one.
