Glad I went.
Two of my favorite dealers were there and I was surprised how busy it was.
It is also a larger show than I expected based off comments in here. Free parking is also a plus.

I would recommend it if you are in Northern DFW and willing to spend $8 to kill an afternoon.

I think you are talking about Lewisville. I was there today. It was very crowded compared to other shows there. Was it my imagination, or was the pricing basically full retail (Bass Pro), with most vendors?

Pleased to.  What I like about gunshows is it's very easy to get a few ARFCOMers together for a bit.  Most places have a gun show in driving distance - we in north Texas have the advantage of 2 or 3 every weekend.

Yes, Lewisville.
There are four vendors there that have very reasonable prices in my opinion.
Past and blast is my favorite.  They have treated me well and have very competitive prices. P365 for $478 I can’t believe no one grabbed that.
The two vendors with all the pistols teathered down are both competitive as well.  The vendor that is only teathered pistols is more competitive though.  There is also another vendor that was right next to P+B that is very reasonable.

The rest of the vendors definitely had some wtf pricing. That same P365 for $550.  Saw a G45 for $650 with the standard sights.  How about a used gen 3 G19 for $550.
Another great vendor wasn’t there.  They usually have a lot of tables at the FT Worth show.  Not sure of their name but one side of the aisle has tons of pistols and the other their long guns.

Overall, I would reccomend the Lewisville show and love having fun shows every weekend.
Back home, I would get to about 2 to 4 a year.  Even in PA it was only one about every other month.

The old lesbian couples were out in full force.

ETA - bought something where the kid tried to "verify" that my 2 $20 bills weren't counterfeit.  So if that seller is a member here or reading this post, don't be so silly with the next guy.

The two elderly ladies selling knives & guns?  They're a hoot.  The gun gal is pushing 80, and the knife lady is always sending a geegaw home to the boy or one of the girls.  The gun gal has some interesting guns pass across her table.

Those ladies you referenced are fixtures of the gun shows.  I'm talking about all the new old lesbians - I saw at least 4 couples.

If the Blast and Past guys are who I think they are, their brick and mortar store is in downtown Whitesboro, west of Sherman. Nice mix of black guns, pistols, mil-surplus and C&R.

19-20 January

Bonham
Eastland
Longview
Waco (Premier)

Waco is a bit bigger than the Lewisville Premier show last weekend - I would expect a few of the D/FW dealers to be there.  I might talk FW_wife into Bonham or Longview.  Post up if you want to have a lunch, and I'll put it in the OP.

@Death_Hates
@EdwardAvila
@Goatboy

Y'all gonna hit either of the east Texas shows?

It's not looking too positive for me as of right now.
If so, it would be Longview.

Might make Longview late Sunday afternoon.  Is the Longview show as big as the Tyler show?  Really enjoyed Tyler.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait WAIT!

Dallas Safari Club convention January 17-20!

This show was so big, that the gun part alone took us all day to walk through last year.

This is was the show where I held a $250,000 Boss shotgun.

No one wants to go to this show?

I would have told him that Red Flag Laws are a Red Flag and the NRA needs to be standing up against unconstitutional gun grabs, not backing them.

We're trying to save semi-automatics?

Interesting.

I wonder what conversations led to that response.

How much deeper is the kimchi than we know?

Or is that just some bullshit answer they concocted in a room to shut The Little People up?

So - Bonham has a LOT of room for growth.  Small show, only worth the $7 if it's the only show in driving distance.  If you're looking for antique Winchesters, not bad.

26-27 January

Abilene
Mesquite Big Town (Premier)
Tyler

Soulman's @ NOON Saturday in Mesquite since DeathHates seconded.  Tyler is a good show, albeit nowhere near as large as Big Town.  @ least one regular D/FW vendor says he'll cancel on Big Town and head to Tyler.

Post up if you want to meet at a different time, day, or place.

Most of us will go to Big Town I suspect.  Tyler is a good show for East Texas.  Bigger than Canton or Bonham.  Well, every other show I've ever been to, including 100 degrees under a tent at Texas Motor Speedway, is bigger than Bonham.  And I've been going to shows since the late 80's, in at least 3 states.

It and Sherman are usually the same. Small and slow.
Talked to a buddy of mine with a table there and he said the shows at the casino in Durant are usually pretty good, 400 tables or so.

As I looked at the prices on those Winchesters I wondered where all of those $75 lever action 30-30's from the early '80s went.

Since I haven't talked myself into a C&R (yet), I have a weird bifurcation of taste in firearms - legal antiques and very modern.  The Mauser 98 is a great action, but if I'm going bolt action, I'm more interested in pre-1899 guns.  If I'm going Title 1, may as well get something functional.

I'll be set up in Tyler in my normal corner doing knife sharpening and trading all the gun junk I've accumulated over the years.  If any of you guys come by stop by and say HI!

Usually it is a good show, and lots of stuff comes out of the woods for trade.  Remember, East Texas does actually have trees that grow higher than your truck for those of you from the other parts of Texas...….
