Saw you in another thread, figgered I'd invite you to the north Texas floating gun show party.  I index all the shows I can find from the Red River to Waco & Abilene to Bossier City.  We usually go to dinner on Saturday nights after the show.

Right on! I generally try to hit up the mesquite gun show as i'm local to it.  Didn't make August or September, but did actually make it this past weekend.  I tend to be a sunday attendee.

Curiosity has me,  how is the Denton and Abilene show in general?  I’m kinda in the middle of each of them.

The Denton show is a collector's show, antiques & C&R.  There are some AMAZING pieces that come to that show, you will learn something and stand there in awe.  But you're not going to find AR parts or modern handgun mags or ammo there.  They hold it twice a year, the fall show is in Denton.  I have the dates in the OP for several years.

Abilene show I've not been to, but RebleYell recruited me, said I'd do well there.  Tables aren't expensive, if you come Saturday afternoon we'll go to dinner afterwards, always good to get dealers & punters mixing together.

The owners are very pro gun as well. The usual 30.06/07 sign is replaced by one welcoming open carry. About ten minutes by car.

I had to meet someone who flaked at Cabelas today so I figured I would go check it out as I looked into it and it said the doors open on Friday.   Turns out I’m a whole day off in my entire life as I passed out paychecks this morning thinking it was Friday.  🤦🏼‍♂️

How were the shows this weekend?
Hoping next weekend at Rogers is a good one.

Denton is an antiques & C&R show, would like to have gone on Friday but couldn't make it.

Abilene was slow.  The next one in January is on top of Longview, Waco, and Burleson, I'll probably do Burleson.

Economy is starting to bite.  99% of my sales were credit cards this weekend.

I would have liked to make the Denton show on Friday also.

I did make it to the Abilene show for a minute though. I stopped through on my way to West Texas.  I was hoping to find something neat but not a lot of neat things laying around.   Backbencher was trying to take some ladies money away by stuffing a gun in her purse so didn't want to interrupt.

I did not realize till tonite that they have significant RV camping on the fairgrounds.  It's ain't cheap considering it's an asphalt parking lot, but hotels cost more.   And they've got over 300 spots.  It also looks like over half of them would fit 2.0.

If I were looking for a Rossi R92 in .357mag, would the Premier gun show on a rainy Saturday morning be a good place to find one?

That's exactly where I got mine back in January.  Walked in and had it picked out in 5 minutes.  There were a ton of Rossi's at that particular show.

I found several vendors that had them for $689-799 but decided I'd rather buy a Taylor & Co 1873 instead from a local gun dealer.

I got to handle a few Tisas Raider 1911s and man that's a tempting gun for $600.

No, I was wearing a camo jacket and blue jeans.  I was there around 10-11am, then had lunch at Kincaids.

Pulled a table this AM because taking the kid to show goats in the rain isn't exactly my idea of a great time.   I had a bunch of cash on me hoping to see something cool walk by and not a lot did, I did spy a Bren MKII that was looking like it was getting really heavy on the guy, but I am pretty sure he walked out the door with it.

Saw an ARFCOMer wearing a tan BFL ball cap.  Managed to catch up to his lass, and told her to tell him where I was set up.  Missed him.

I’m not sure yet. I’m waiting on some materials to come in for a job that were promised by tomorrow. If they show up I’ll probably have to work the weekend so I’m not in a bind leaving for Tulsa next week.

Wish I could join you - I'll be working Fort Worth that weekend.
