Flat large pad predates small pad and is correct for 601/xm16 and other proto/experimental rifles so that large pad would be perfectly correct for your build. Large angled pad is modern but flat predates small pad. |

Broke down and bought a complete XM16E1 rifle on Tuesday. Figured that'll "scratch the itch" long enough for A1 uppers to be consistently in stock.
Of course, now that I've ordered a complete rifle, complete uppers will likely drop. Hopefully the rifle will ship before then at least.
