Hi Mike, I'm really enjoying shooting my H&R M16A1 clone. Don't want to rush your team, but could you provide an update on the development of the H&R 606 LSW? Also, would a 1-12 barrel twist be an option on the 606 clone? I'd definitely enjoy shooting it with a Super Safety once I leave California. Thank you and Merry Christmas! |

Mike, I live in California, and I know that certain items will be banned from bringing into the state starting Jan 1, 2026, but when I tried to order an M16A1 Buttstock just now, a pop-up appeared saying this item cannot be shipped to CA. What's the problem?? The law is not yet in effect. |

It's a fun and smooth setup with an a1 stock, both suppressed and unsuppressed, if you find the combo of parts to make it work. |

Hi Mike, I am wanting the m16a1 rifle but have been warned to stay away since I am left handed because of the brass coming back into may head and neck area. Have you seen this from your m16a1? I can understand that could be a problem with some rifles but wouldn't there be a fix for that? Any Idea when the M16A1 Complete Rifle w/ GI Correct Trap Door Stock, Gray non-blem will be back in stock? Thank you in advance. |

My SP1 burned the shit out of my arm with hot brass while shooting left handed.

Sales have been good this year so inventory has been moving. Unfortunately, along with this we have had some anodizing issues that have resulted in many of the “A” grade sku’s being OOS. Please be patient. |

I'm pretty sure you've said no before, but will you please sell 11.5 1/7 twist pencil barrel assemblies. The only decent source for these are Brownells, and not only do they only ever have 1/12 twist in stock, but the barrel profile is also incorrect as it has an outward ramp/bevel towards the threads and this triggers my autism. H&R short barrel assemblies would fill a hole in the retro clone market for assemblers, and would be greatly appreciated. |

There aren't seemingly any options for 7.5 pencil barrels for retro builds.

So with the shortage of gray I ended up buying a black H&R Slickside upper and using Alumahyde in Dark Parkerizing Gray to build up my 601. Add H&R upper parts and barrel assembly, PSA BCG and LPK, A1 extension from Sherluk and Brownells 601 furniture and this is the result. Took all day yesterday between waiting for the packages to arrive and coating and baking the upper to cure it. Attached File Also debanned a neutered Colt A1 upper that I put together years ago while living in MA. John Thomas pulled the neutered FSB and fitted a new one, and removed the welded brake. That barrel came back yesterday too and went back together on top of a new H&R M16A1 lower. |

Recently grabbed an H&R Government M16A2 Carbine upper to go on an old Lauer Custom Weaponry lower I had stashed away. Very nicely done upper and scratches my A2 itch. Although, I was a little disappointed to have to order a set of the H&R retro six hole handguards separately since the upper came with B5s.

Aside from obvious price difference, the B5s are lighter and have a matte finish I would describe as like later Colt M4 handguards. The H&R retro six hole handguards have a sheen and are very close to Colt and GI contract six hole handguards. I'll see if I can get a couple photos this weekend side by side. |

I searched for an answer first but couldn’t find one. I finally got a chance to shoot my H&R 635 tonight and it has a serious ejection problem. I’m about 95% sure it’s just the ejector. It looks more rounded on the tip than flat, so I’m not sure if that’s the problem or if it just needs adjusted. I haven’t dug into it yet, but I plan to mess with it in a few days, and I thought it would be good to have a couple of spare ejectors on hand just in case. I don’t see any spare ejectors for sale under H&R or anywhere on the PSA site. My questions are: 1. Does this H&R lower use a standard ejector like any other Colt lower? 2. Where is the best place to pick up a couple of spare ejectors for it? 3. It looks like there’s a roll pin holding it in — is that correct? |

I was mainly wondering where we can buy spares for this lower. I need to pick up a couple. Originally, I had the ejector up and riding in the corner of the bolt like it should, but it wouldn’t kick out a single shell. I kept bending it about .005 at a time until I had it touching, and I still couldn’t get it to eject more than two shells in a row. I eventually bent it so tight that it started dragging and slowing the bolt down. At that point, I could sometimes get 5–6 in a string before it would stop ejecting. Sometimes it was still just one or two, but that was the best yet. I went through about 300 rounds trying to dial it in before I gave up on it. The shell only hangs off the bolt about a millimeter anyway. Basically, right where the cartridge starts to round off is all the ejector has to grab, so I need every last thousandth of ejector contact I can get. It’s possible I may also have a bolt that’s slightly out of spec. I’ve ordered a different bolt to try, and it’s on the way. This ejector looks like it was stamped, because the side closest to the bolt has that slight rounded edge from the manufacturing process. The other side is flat, so it’s impossible to get that last .010–.020 edge/corner on this one without some serious sanding. It also looks slightly canted. I will get it to work proper but before I start grinding, sanding, or twisting on this one to square it up, I wanted to make sure I had a couple of spares on hand. And honestly, if it ever breaks 10–30 years from now, it would be nice to already have one sitting in the parts box. I’ve seen a few online, but they all have two holes, and the holes look slightly larger—some even have an oblong hole. I did order a few of those, but I’m not even sure yet if I’ll be able to make them work.
