Dang, it felt good to check in the net again. I was ready to take down the delta loop and see if it was causing it.

I have been looking for a PVC solution, but that is the piece I cant find. Everything I see is 3” and I would need to step it down with an adapter. Also, what has worked well for me is drilling holes through the flat stock and running a couple tent spikes through it……. If you want to free stand it without a vehicle. |
|
|
It is a cast iron flange, not pvc. I looked for pvc, but ended up with the metal one. They have galvanized or black iron.
Edit: Yeah, I need to do that on that one. I have a 24" round one for the delta loop and I have holes for tent pegs in that one. I also have some metal caps that fit the pvc threaded adapters that I drilled and tapped for a 12" garden spike. They wotk well for smaller poles. I can make a camp site look like a mini VOA antenna farm. |

In the electrical section you can find a connector that will hold a piece of chain link fence top rail, and screw into one of the flanges.

Seriously.) and an upper class Brit and the redneck was explaining to him how to cut an antenna out of barbed wire he found at the dump. Apparently barbed wire lengths are different than regular wire because that redneck seemed to have figured out a formula of some sort. I was amazed. I have to hit the rack early tonight so PLEASE have someone else read THE PREAMBLE at 0000Z sharp. |

i was actually able to hear everyone tonight

Successful test of running my amp from one of my Honda EU2200 generators. Noisy night for the test, but there was no increase in noise after I started the generator. It handled the amp at the full 600 watts. At least I know it will handle it. With both gens running I could run my entire shack if need be.

I only had to work 8 hours today, so I had time to set it up for a test. I have ran my portable station off of a generator before, but never my base station. Once my shop/shack is done, both of my amps will have their own circuit. The shop/shack build has went much slower than I planned. Many unexpected events have been in the way. |
