I show five check ins to the net tonight, plus NC for six stations. Conditions were pretty weak, but I had 100% copy on everyone with zero issues. |

Things started out poorly for me, no copy of the preamble. I saw people checking in so I took a stab at it during a pause, hope I didn't walk on anyone. Things got better by the time reports were being sent.

Didn't even know if my check in went through. CW signal dropped and I got called, had nothing ready. Hit TX and tried to stay in front of it typing on a tiny ass keyboard. Strong signal out of WI tonight. You're usually weak here if I can read you at all. |

I need to figure out what's up with the noise I seem to have most days, it was pushing S9 levels of static tonight. Drowns everyone out. Will have the house breaker off soon to fix some house wiring and I'll see if the noise is something here or atmospheric. Sounds atmospheric to me but idk.

Have to try it and see what happens. I get crazy arcing noise when the temp gets in the near zero F range and below. I do suspect line noise though.

Volunteer NC needed for this week's net, then we should be back to normal for a while.

Not gonna make it tonight. Away from the shack.

Net closed at 1945 with 7 check ins + NCS with one station new to my log.

Great net tonight, thanks. 100% copy on all.

I should be around to NC tonight. I'm not sure how well my antenna will work with the base under 18" of snow, but we'll find out.

USPSA-IPSC Phuc cancer I liked this place a lot better when it was a gun forum. |
Smaller net but prop was pretty good on my end.
I copied four stations +NC, sounds like we had someone listening to the next and they just asked about time + freq. |

Keep trying Derek45. I heard Robmkiv and the new guy but not you.
ETA now I'm hearing everyone at the same time apparently. |

I was busy with stuff tonight but had my radio listening. Wasn't really copying NCS or nmb well or at all. Copied the rest I know of OK.
And just a few minutes ago I realized my 80m hamstick was still connected instead of the the G5RV jr. |
|
|
I listened for 15 minutes or so and heard nothing, not even check ins. Left it running and went and had dinner, nothing in the log when I went back.
Maybe I need to check my antenna, though I was picking up a CW signal pretty strong right next to 7120. |

I will be present to NC this week.
Looks like the solar flux and sunspot number is decent, so hopefully that means OK propagation. |

2300 and 2315Z reminders out, copy on one station testing so far.
ETA: sorry about the delay on start, got distracted with an email and didn't notice the clock! |

I know some of you hard a hard time hearing me, but propagation was perfect on my end.
Almost everyone was S5, but S5 with very little noise so I was seeing +9 to +10dB SNR (which is the max I ever see) for everyone. No dropouts in signals, very consistent for the entire net for everyone. We had 6 stations plus NC tonight. See you all next week! |

My problem is S7-8 noise at my house, it's hard to hear any one that isn't S9+ on my end.

How did you figure out that the neighbor's battery tender was a problem?

It's less than a wavelength away from my 80mOCFD. At my dad's house we put a timer on the his battery tender and it only runs from 3-9am. |

I bet if you gift him a timer (to keep him from cooking his battery, of course) you might succeed in getting some QRM free time.

Sunspot number is 93 and solar flux is 115... we're getting somewhere on those now so prop should be decent-ish. |

Probably won't be on tonight, picking up a new (to me) MX for my oldest tonight and it's unlikely I'll be back in time. Maybe make last call.

What's the current protocol. I forget how to respond to the call for check ins! |

Worf: No! Men do not roar. Women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects. (dreamily) And claw at you.

The protocol is repeat "breaker breaker" in all caps six times followed by your screen name.
Standards have slipped a little in your absence. |

I think my count for tonight's net is five stations + NC,
with both old and new faces showing up tonight. Conditions were pretty good. I had everyone at 100% and only one deep dropout during the entire net. |

So I heard a few stations earlier and now I'm sitting here waiting for the net to start thinking "WTF, I was hearing everyone earlier".
Totally zoned out on the time change last weekend. 1900L works better for me, anyway. |

Oopsie, let me update the ET to 2000.
