We'll start in 16/500, but a move to 8/500 is likely based on how bad conditions are.
I had much better copy on NMBMXER's last transmission but still probably 60-70% at most. THOR Micro is supported by fairly recent FLdigi versions, might be something to try after the net. It's supposedly good to -18dB, but that's only 1 dB better than Olivia 8/500. ETA: I'm S3-S5 noise with a 500 Hz passband on the 7300. Copy on NMBMXER is still about 60-70%. Copied a signal report to redbird. ETA #2: Solid copy on greendragon NMBMXER signal report. |

I am decoding from NC, but I'm not hearing it come through. I look up at my computer, and it's there.
I posted a picture of my fishfinder on the last page, something is making noise from 7114-7116 here. Not a loud as last week but it's hard to see any signals less than S9+.

I'm getting very strong S8 pulse noise on 7114. Not copying NC much at all.
Lost everything S9 jamming, on all antennas.
Not hearing anyone. I'll give a couple follow up calls and then try 8/500 I guess.
ETA: Got weaponeer on the follow-up call. |

If NC is sending out, I'm not getting anything. If someone could call for relay needed at some point
Not hearing net control here. Was talking to my kid, looked at the clock, checked fldigi, nothing since my exchange with Nmbmxer
edit, last copy here was Nmbmxer's response to GreenDragon pre-net |
I can't hear anything and have no decodes with the sql off. What about a QSY up to 7118?

I hear voices on 7114
I barely had copy on weaponeer.
I doubt 8/500 will do any better given I have zip on the screen. I'll try a couple more times and then I think QSY to 14067.5 |

I have traffic at 7118. Clear between 7080 and 7090 here.
Edit- rgr on the move to 20m |
I'm getting Nmbmxer at ~+10 right now. Copied bits of pre-net from him and Redbird.
I just caught the end of a transmission. Some one saying they were all alone

OK move to 20M... 14067.5.

I'm on 20 now and hearing Nmbmxer but not NC.

much better on 20M. Copy NMBMXER and redbird so far.

Well I don't know anyone's call signs but whoever is working on the Honda is coming in great for me in Ohio

It looks like the winlink guys are up and operating!
GreenDragon at -8. Replying station -8 to -12
Man, that was rough. I guess my portable setup needs some improvement.
I've had 100% copy on every one except Bill which I didn't see at all.

Pretty sure the mode handles the RX adjustment. I think they said it'll copy up to 150Hz off.
It's slow but I'm seeing everyone in the waterfall solidly. |

For the net summary:
six stations, 1 on 40M and then 5 with a dupe on 20M. 40M conditions were beyond rough -- unusable. 20M was much better but variable. |

THOR Micro would work if we're really desperate. Definitely need to keep it short on that mode.
I never heard redbirdxx on 40M. 100% copy on NMBMXER and GreenDragon on 40M. |

I was away for a bit but came back in time for the move to 40 on Thor micro.
Read Nmbmxer and GreenDragon strong, NC was weak and barely readable. |

My Ham Radio Deluxe DM780 program doesn’t seem to have Thor Micro. |

Thor micro is a fairly new mode from what I can see, it's supported in FLdigi. It's also open source so presumably HRD will get it eventually. It's painfully slow but the timing isn't rigid like FT8 is. Prop on 40M is so bad I think there's stations I wouldn't even be able to copy using WSPR. |

I have to study up on Olivia and fldigi, only digital mode I've used so far is FT8. Seems to be the only digital mode on 10m right now with propagation being what it is.
I did pick up a few sentences/words, so that is encouraging. Most everyone was below the noise, so setting the squelch slider low enough to decode just introduced gibberish. That and I only setup my antenna at 18', I'll try the 33' one next time, it just takes a bit more to setup. |
Thanks for running net tonight.
For me, the prenet 40m was pretty good, then it took a major dump. 20m was better, and I was able to read most stations, except the last one. It was still sporadic and none were at 100% THOR micro seemed to do well on both 20 and 40, just super slow. Definitely Q codes and other short hand would be useful. |

This week I will try checking into the net while very remote kayak camping. I will have a 20 watt radio, small battery and a 40m dipole as high up in a tree as I can get. I will be using an air gapped android tablet for olivia and keying the mic to transmit
assuming it isnt raining I may need a relay I will not have an internet connection and will only have 40m available If a different mode will be used someone please transmit what the mode is on olivia 16-500 thanks |

Considering your situation I don't think other modes will be necessary. 16/500 is already one of the best low SNR modes and Thor micro is just way too slow to be practical and was more just to see if it'd work. It's a bit early but the current forecast here is warning about another wave a thunderstorms hitting my area, but hopefully none happens during net time. |

Assuming no active lightning in the area I will NC tonight. I do have active storms around me at
the moment but so far no lightning. Usual time, frequency and mode: 0000Z, 7114KHz, 16/500 Olivia. |

First reminder out a tiny bit late (2308Z).
Had some far off thunder but sunshine is hitting the antenna right now. Band appears pretty quiet and/or dead. ETA: 2315Z sent now too. ETA2: Copying weaponeer1911 testing. In the past 15 minutes a thunderstorm has rolled in, strikefinder showed 7 miles out and just dropped to 6 miles, seems to be heading right for me. ETA3: 2330Z reminder sent. ETA4: Also calling Mach between announcements in hopes he's listening ahead of net. |

I've got S4 noise on the band, and S9 noise right on our freq. I think I saw where NC tried to respond to my test mesg, but only got parts of callsigns. Just got partial copy on the 30 min reminder. Not looking too good here tonight. View Quote - ill begi 3Ø minutes 7xxx SK |

I have the same S9+ noise from 7114-7116 as last week, I doubt I am going to hear anything.

I don't have the S9 noise on 20m. Nice and quiet, but I can barely copy NC. Got about 25% copy.
