Hello All! I'm new to the site, AK's and building. Hoping someone can help. I ordered 3 of the kits from CFS and one has(had) a milled receiver. Having a little trouble finding any information on the milled Yugos. Has anyone built one of these???

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!

No one so far....as far as I know.

Which type of milled receiver do you have?  Do you have pics?

This is mine, it's from the earlier M64.  They used the two stock tangs like a standard Type III milled AK, but have a funny lightening cut on the left hand side, and an anti-magazine wobble spring loaded button.

Correct me if I'm wrong but there is only 1 place to get milled receivers.   EDITED!!

Yes, the Firing Line is where it's at, but their prices actually start at about $289.00.

Not bad for a milled receiver at all, that's a lot of machine work and material.

Thanks for the info! I will check with Firing Line. $300-$400 is what I have been warned to expect. All things considered, I believe it will be a good investment. The rear trunion has no tang at all. I cannot find a model number of any kind on it. I am assuming it is an M70. Is that right?
Here are some pics I took. Sorry for the poor quality. hinking.gif
Is the silver cap used to protect the crown during cleaning? It doesn't look like it would serve as a break.

The carvings are interesting. The other side of the butt had BOG SUVA and on the lower handguard, it has NEDO.

You can't load pics from your hard drive to the site.  You need to use an online picture hosting place, like www.photobucket.com.  Load them onto there, then cut and paste to the sight here.

Unfortunately, no one is making a proper Yugoslavian milled receiver.  Sounds like you have a M70 kit.

I think Mike at The Firing Line is going to make a run eventually, but it's on the back burner.

Templar,

Does the later yugo milled not have rear stock tangs? Your previous pictures of the kit shows a stock relieved for them but i do not see any stock tangs on the stubs? Any info would be appreciated.

Hoot, the later Yugo milled M70's attach the buttstock to the receiver just like the stamped rifles, they have that bolt in the center, kind of like how a Remington shogun buttstock attaches to the gun.

The M64 uses the tangs like a Type III AK-47.

Thanks. Have a SLR-95 receiver I was thinking of installing one of my Yugo kits to and did not know either way the stock attaches.

Hey Templar,

Your kit has the same markings enscribed in the forarm and upper hand guard as mine....What does it mean????? Just curious. Mine is the stamped kit not the milled.

Very interesting.  Tell us more.  Original barrel?  Did any mods have to be made to the SLR receiver?

Donor rifle was a SLR95 I bought for $239 when they were first introduced ('88 I think).  I refuse to own a non-evil  AK anymore.  Already have a SA-93 conversion (Global Trades):

and an Arsenal SAM-7A1, no pictures yet.  Wanted something different.  Bought a $89 dollar kit from CFS and sent it to Randy.  He did not mention any problems with the build.  He used the original receiver, bolt and carrier from the SLR95.  US parts are Global Trades FCG, piston and a US copy of the grenade launcher. The rest, including the barrel, are Yugo.
