What kind of accuracy are you seeing out of your PSL?
Just curious. I realize these aren't benchrest rifles per se....but I've read the original SVD's were capable of 1.5-2 MOA, and I'm curious how these compare. |

Nice looking PSL :)

View Quote Most people claim their PSL accuracy from out of the box with the crappy scope and gritty trigger, but with a finely tuned trigger and better scope and with the right ammo, you can make 1.5-2. Ive seen some people claim 1 MOA. But these are no doubt DM rifles and not sniper rifles/bench guns. Also the barrel is pretty thin so once you start heating that bitch up you will see the groups get wider. Thats the complaint most people have besides magazine issues |

I was having my barrel cut down so it was something that was easy to do. I converted a Saiga Sporter a couple years ago, but left the front end all Saiga-y. I think if I were to replace the front sight post to get a '74-ish one, I might just have to look into doing a setup like you've got going there. Looks pretty freakin' cool, and I like the built in iron that co-witnesses. |

Please tell me what parts and modifications you did? Thanks I'm dealing with a pistol trunion on a Draco, it sounds like you have a rifle so the process will be a little different. On mine I had to drill and tap the back of the rear trunion for an Ace folding mechanism. I took a AK 74 stock and cut the tang that fits inside the receiver off plus and additional 5/8" off to compensate for the width of the folding mech. After that I countersunk the inside of the holes you would typically use to mount an Ace stock to the folding mech. The wood stock was mounted to the folding mech. using two wood screws going from the inside of the folding mech. into the stock. If you have a rifle rear trunion you would have to use an Ace internal receiver block to mount the folding mechanism to the rifle. After that the process would be the same as on my Draco. |

Thank you! yes i do have a rifle, but i think it would be worth going through the trouble to have a wood folder, I'm not into all the tactical stuff on an ak, i prefer the original look, but like the ability to fold up for a more compact storage and stay as close to original as possible! |

Thanks Drag. Gotta show the folks that slantbacks aren't evil and VEPRs are badass rifles.

Nothing wrong with preferring the more traditional pattern. Admittedly, VEPRs are tad more tricky to work on, but not so much to be prohibitive. I enjoy the challenge.
