I received this in an email today. Sad to say that my 45 Guard lower will not work with the new 10mm upper.

Sad to say that my 45 Guard lower will not work with the new 10mm upper. The website states to use a modified upper with the BCG/BBL combo so I'm just assuming it needs the enlarged ejection port. Have you tried contacting CMMG? I would think the .45 Guard lower should work for the 10mm eventhough the site says designed to be used with the new MK10 lower. Maybe ask them if there is some part in the lower you can change in your 45 Guard lower to work with the 10mm if that is the case. |

I've ordered a 10mm BCG/BBL for friend that currently has a .45 CMMG RDB setup that he is running flawlessly on a Bazooka Brothers GG mag lower now. Works great in full auto with a RDIAS also. He is planning on using the 10mm BCG/BBL on the same lower. The website states to use a modified upper with the BCG/BBL combo so I'm just assuming it needs the enlarged ejection port. Ill be watching to see if Amphibian determines it literally wont work on a .45acp guard lower or if it "doesnt work" like Vltors A5 buffer
"NOTE: A5 buffers are only compatible with other VLTOR A5 buffer system components." Yet they work perfectly with non Vltor rifle length springs and many non Vltor .308 tubes that are around 3/4 longer than a AR15 carbine tube. |

we had to change the magazine position in the Mk10 to ensure reliable feeding. If you just need to make the mag feed lower, I would think that could be easily accomplished with a modified mag catch like myself and many did to get the 9mm CMMG RDB to work with unmodified Colt 9mm mags. I know this isn't optimal since you now have the issue of the mag being able to be pushed up but I think it would be a good option for those already invested in the .45 Guard lowers. If they didn't want to drop the coin for a dedicated lower right away but I also don't think you over the mag catch parts on the web site yet as I wouldn't want to go messing with those proprietary parts without a spare. My friend is already cutting notches in GG mags to run .45 with his .45 Guard so it is no big deal to cut a different notch location for 10mm if necessary. He may also need to bend feed lips for 10mm. |

I have both the 9mm Banshee and the 40 S&W upper which works fine on the 9mm Banshee lower. I also run the 9mm upper on my SBR with their 9AR Conversion magazines. I've been following some of your other threads, and so far I haven't experienced any ejection or stoppages whether firing suppressed or without. |

just a comment... I don't have a 10mm but I did encounter magazine interference problems with my 9mm NFA Glock format lower and a CMMG radial delay bolt and barrel...magazine body and follower clearance were finally figured out, and now work with my 39 round 9mm mags, but just milling .065" off the mag catch shelf was too much... however... MagPul factory magazines worked from the get go without any problems, other than they only make a 27 for the 9mm... you might try one for a 10mm if available (not sure if they are made)... regards |

Any idea how many rounds you've fired on the 9mm and 40SW? Buffer and spring configuration of each? |
| From my understanding it was a magazine height and angle issue. I was wanting to use a CMMG 45 lower I had bought to build a DI10mm on from Macon Armory. Rudy said it would work though he would have to make a new mag catch and do a little tweaking to the mag catch opening. I picked up an Angstadt lower (which he had used in the past for the 10mm without issues)and build the CMMG lower into a 45 pistol instead. |

I have approximately 550 rounds on the 9mm and 300 on the 40 S&W. I have used both uppers on the CMMG Banshee Lower with their stock pistol lower buffer and spring. Quoted:

If you measure with a caliper or a height gauge....they actually sit about the same......but because of the smaller rim diameter it will miss feed with 10mm ...you get a malfunction where the nose of the cartridge goes up in the barrel extension above the chamber......add a few thou and it feeds like buttah....... |
|
So based on that... a large frame angstadt lower “should” work fine with both a 10mm AND .45 upper using the RDB system. Just an upper and mag swap after the buffer weights are sorted. That would make my day.... oh and my bank account curses you all ETA: how does the angstadt lower look with a mil-spec upper? |

I'd prefer to build a 10mm rather than buying a Banshee. Based on what I'm reading above, will the Angstadt Arms 45 ACP receiver set work if I were to purchase the 10mm barrel and bolt kit from CMMG? But I KNOW my DI10 will......... |
| I saw the new Banshee drop and the first thing I thought of was “I wonder about the barrel/BCG combo?” and today I thought “I wonder what amphibian found out?” and here we are. Does it take Endo Mags? My only Glock is a G40 so that’s probably kinda dumb for me, but I’m curious about it anyway. |

So I bought a complete gun, and for the interested... Any full power 10mm loads I shot ruined the case via bulge. I put a 10oz buffer in (unsuppressed) and it did not help. I appears the chamber is cut quite open, maybe to aid feeding reliability. Attached File |

Attached File Cmmg's initial response is that this has been reported and might even be expected with full power loads. More to come. |

Mine just got sent back to CMMG. We will see what their official response is on it. I'd recommend getting ahold of Macon Armory, he will get it done for you cheaper. |

Quoted: Looks like it may be time to get a DI upper... I had such high hopes for the CMMG. The bolt/barrel combo was the last piece I needed to complete it Scott |
|
Quoted: It would seem to me, especially since 10mm can range from 325 ft/lbs to over 700 ft/lbs of energy at the muzzle, no single configuration can cover such a huge range. If shooting the complete range of 10mm is required, I would think that DI with an adjustable gas block would be the way to go. High pressure, cut the gas back. Low pressure, open the gas port up. HK has three different locking peices for. 40 caliber. CMMG only has one angle for 10mm that I know of. One size fits all is not something I would think would work very well for such a wide range of energy in 10mm. YMMV. Scott |

I wouldn't reload a 10mm to much energy weakens the case. buy new cases and make your own. would never trust a reman 10mm. so far have had only 2 issues with my cmmg one was a hammer strike on the insert and 1 might have been a cracked case but not sure

I picked up one yesterday (200 Banshee 10mm). Need to get a red dot on it and get out and shoot it. I had seen this thread but don't care what it does to brass as long as it shoots like a scalded dog. I used to reload but haven't in years. Never could get over feeling it was a chore I didn't want to do - kind of like mowing the lawn. Don't do that anymore either ever since my boys got big enough to push the damn thing. :)
