I designed a block for my gas block to support it during installation of the gas tube. I took the measurements and to create an exact opposite of the gas block in auto desk inventor and then sent it over to the 3d printer. Waiting results. SLR MIGHT WANT TO TAKE NOTES ? Just thinking you could probly sell a bunch of block tools if you made them. I would I buy one. I love the gas blocks you make. And sorry if I sounded snarky on the take notes part didn't mean it that way. Just giving you an idea |

My impatience got the best of me today... I put a DA9 on my pistol length SBR and realized there was an issue with the gas tube not lining up , then reread Todd's post about needing a straight gas tube with the DA9. Couldn't find one ANYWHERE that was pistol length so I straightened one out. Finally got it on the gun, test fire went great so I went to put it together and the Hand guard won't fit. I don't really have the money to buy one from SLR and it APPEARED to be just a slight clearance issue... so... off to the grinder I go. Took the top screw flush with the gas block (it stuck up just a little) and took some off the bottom edges of the gas block more or less. After several passes and test fits I realize it will never fit because my HG doesn't have the channel to fit over the gas tube. FML! So now guess what I am asking for Christmas. Todd to give us a great price break on a 7" SOLO HG. I am desperate need of finishing this build. View Quote LoL Worm. -When you order there is a spec PDF with dimensions -Right at top it says the DA8/9's use straight gas tubes -Right at the top it says DA8/9's are for SR-25/AR10 (.308) pattern AR's Give me a call at the shop and I'll see if we can come up with a solution for your dilemma. Great post, had a laugh with WonderBoy when reading this tonight. We'll come up with something for you. Todd@SLR |

Ahhh yes.....The DA7-SAT (Satellite) I will be releasing some info any day now. Actually we have 2 new DA versions coming next week and a who new ballgame coming by the end of the month. It will not replace the DA series just compliment and fill in some gaps like small I.D.tube handguards, buried gas blocks and a slick toolless adjuster. The Nexturn Swiss CNC is working overtime on this one. All stainless internals. Stay tuned... View Quote Waiting patiently Ok, not so patiently.... |

Ordered mine a couple days ago. Can't wait!! Happy to replace my Syrac with the SLR product.
|
|
I'm looking forward to the new tool-less variant also.
Just my .02, and not to be critical by any means... If SLR introduced melonited or IonBonded stainless construction and cleaned up some of the machine finishes, the Syrac would have nothing over the SLR. That's not even getting into a discussion regarding customer service where Todd really shines. |

Thanks guys.
Tomorrow I will post pics of 2 new DA variants. The DA7-L (Lite). Narrow .750 Set screw version small enought to clear the DD Lite HG's rear mount. The DA8-C V2 which is also narrower and has a lower overall height to fit all .308 channeled HG's. All of the DA8/9's will eventually be V2. If you run the gas block in front of the HG then it's not an issue. Although exposed gas blocks are much more common in the large bore AR's we will keep trying to evolve DA series to fill the needs you ask for. The DA-7 R will be too less so there is a delay until that mechanism I gets through production. The new Satellite tool less gas blocks are coming next. I hope to let the cat out of the bag this week. WOOT, mine arrived today. Thank you USPS and SLR.
Will be installed tomorrow and ready for the weekend shoot. Will surely buy from again. Thanks Todd!! You are an asset to the industry. |

ThanksTodd, my DA-7 SSC arrived today, trading Florida sunshine for California sunshine. Just finished the test fit on a 13.7" Rainier Ultramatch Barrel, under a Geissele MK2 13" rail. The Rainier barrel has a dimple predrilled that aligns perfectly with the rear set screw...what a bonus. Just waiting on a Flaming Pig to arrive to be pinned & welded. Then I'll dial this agb in properly.

I was waiting for another company for the last few months to get one of their set screw detent ajustable blocks, not knowing about SLR or this thread. I just got off the phone with SLR this afternoon and placed an order for the DA7. Glad I called and spoke to SLR. Seems like a great company.

So does anyone know if the DA9 would work on a JP medium contour 18 in barrel and fit under a troy alpha rail? this is going to be a 5.56 gun if it matters.

Video I made if anyone is interested.
Works great, I love this gas block. NiB Da7 Clamp on shown in the vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzpNvpCb3q0 |

Bookmarked the site. Waiting patiently to see the 7 Satellite before I decide...
Is it ready yet. |

Does the new DA8-C still need a straight gas tube or can we use regular gas tubes now?

Does a DA7 clamp-on have any clearance issues underneath a JP modular hand guard?
|
|
Does anyone have a pic of any version of the DA that is either partially or fully exposed in front of the gas block?
Thinking of putting a DA8 on a rifle length system in front of a 12" rail and was wondering what it would look like before committing thanks. |

I am going to be running a pistol-length gas system under a 10" rail, so I am (im)patiently waiting to see the new tool-less block. I literally have everything ready... Just in a holding pattern for the gas block.

Just snagged a Centurion Arms 14.5" lightweight barrel last week. Waiting on the DA7-SAT

Todd@SLR well its a mid-length gas system on a 16" barrel, but the rail is a 15" rail so it will be tucked up in there a ways. whats the ETA on the new block? im kind of impatient :) lol |

I'm holding out for the DA7-R. Any time line on availability.

wanted to thank Todd for sending some sneak peaks of the new DA-7 Satellite!! looking forward to the official release and picking one up so i can finally get my new NSR rail on
|

Todd, didn't see this HG mentioned...
Will the DA7-C work on 14.5 middy with YHM Todd Jarrett 12" handguard? I think the DA7 will be in range of the existing adjuster. |
|

Hopefully just hours away from a look at the DA7-R and DA7-SAT.

We'll...it's been almost 9 hours....3 hrs of sleep and 6 working....why don't I have moar pictures? Can I has picture now please?
I have my cc at the ready! |

Are you attending SHOT and could you bring a .625 clamp on by the Bill Wiseman Ballistics booth?
A fist full of $$$ would await you there.
|
|
Don't be surprised if it takes him a while to get back as they are very busy with the new model production and getting ready for SHOT show
|

Yes plans never go as planned and my watch is broken but it's been a great start to the new year.
The 3-4 new gas block models and the 6 new hand guards have been a ton of work. SHOT is next week and we are trying launch a new website this week along with about 50 other things. Then you have the nonstop phone calls( which I really enjoy meeting you guys), non stop email inquiries and the time gets away from you. Finally just keeping up with the days orders and getting everything out in time is a huge effort. We are getting there with the DA7-SAT and DA7-R I'll show something in a bit just waiting for Alfredo to get a file done. We are shooting for a SHOT show release but I'm afraid we might not make it. Thanks Todd@SLR |
