She's a beauty, amongst the best looking I've seen. So much so that while I've never even pondered getting one of my AR's coated...your titanium finish really has me thinking. |

I appreciate it. I'm stuck working from home with a 2 month old newborn in the house, so I have nothing else to do but tinker with sh*t, haha. I've gone a little crazy with the titanium. First the m&p shield, then this AR, and now my remington 700 and TRP operator... (I can't help it, it's a very handsome finish when you see it in person) You should go for it! |

I'll be shaving the FSB down into a poor man's lo-pro gas block, and then dremeling off the delta ring/spring, etc, all while they're still attached to the upper. Here's the thread I started, asking for info on the process: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_118/578334_Who_has_cut_their_FSB_delta_ring_etc_while_still_attached_to_the_barrel_.html If you decide you don't want to get that involved, there are a handful of rails from Troy, Daniel Defense, Midwest Industries, and probably some that I'm missing, that all work with the standard handguard setup. They drop right in like plastic handguards and require no cutting, etc. I know that at least DD's Omega rails, while they are drop-in, are still actually free-float. |

Gotcha. I know guys who do that. I was under the impression you STILL needed to be able to remove the gas block still though. Thanks for confirming I can do this without having to drill and tap and remove and then re pinweld my dynacomp

I was originally going to go with an entire magpul OD color. What happened was I bought one of the BCM gunfighter grips and all they had in stock was black, so I thought it would be cool to just mix and match different xtm rail covers. It's a mix of FDE, OD and black. I tried to make it so the same color doesn't repeat twice. Sorry about the lighting, I'm kind of a complete novice when it comes to photography haha. Nice sticks btw!

Thanks, that was the goal for sure. According to my electronic food scale it weighs 6lbs, 11.6oz empty. 7lbs, 12oz as shown the pic. It has good balance too. |

I got the delta ring/spring removed, and the FSB shaved down so far. I'll update with pics once it's installed. Update to the above. Got the rail on it today: Before: After: Toying with a 12 o'clock light mount position: |
