Got it mostly completed, not 100% clone correct but enough for my purposes. Last thing I’ll probably do is grab a more clone correct muzzle device. Rocking the vector x1 prism in it now just cause I got a smoking deal on it and wanted to try it out. Need to get some range time with it. This isn't a Blood Diamond clone, it's actually a Black Hawk Down Sanderson Movie Clone but it has 80% of the same parts the BD Rifle had (not the muzzle device or placement of the weapon light), so I figured you guys might appreciate it.       This was a really fun build. I sent the barrel off to Retro Arms Works to chop the barrel and install the triangle front cap. I found a source for $5 shiny M16A2 handguards and bought a couple of sets to experiment on chopping them up. Once I got the dimensions right, I used a hot glue gun with a black glue stick to cement the chopped parts together. The B Square mount, Aimpoint wide ring and Aimpoint Comp M with the correct lens cap took some digging to source and put together, as did the commercial spec CAR Stock. The light is a genuine Surefire 660 with a genuine Surefire M14 Barrel mount and pressure switch. I'm hoping to get to the range soon to zero it. |

Thanks Fellas The Hand guard chop was pretty easy.  I removed the Delta ring from the barrel, then attached the barrel and barrel nut to the receiver.  This allowed me to use the barrel, triangular cap and barrel nut as a jig to size the handguard properly. This is an old banged up handguard I started experimenting with. I found a dremel with a cutting disc was best for the chop, then I used a solid sanding block to make both halves mate up properly.  I used silicon repair tape to hold the tape switch on. The Handguard is solid and doesn't need the tape to hold it together. |

Thanks If your looking for a set of Genuine M16A2 surplus Handguards. its tough to beat these ones for $5. https://dartgunparts.com/product/colt-m16-a2-surplus-handguard/ The 2 sets I got were in great shape, and as a bonus were the correct early shiny Handguards that Colt used in the mid 1980s.  They don't have heat shields, but if your cutting them up anyway, who cares. |

The Handguard is solid and doesn't need the tape to hold it together. Damn man, that’s a really smart way to do this. When I did mine I just laid a CAR handguard on a 2x4 and screwed on a couple of short blocks on each end for my jig. I used JB Weld to attach the two pieces and they came out great, it was a process getting the two pieces sanded to fit together correctly. I got to say that I love movie gun clones and this is one that isn’t ever seen, great job. ETA. The cut down heat shields can still be used in these handguards with a little modification, if you have them. |

You do have to sand on the front piece a bunch to get the rear piece to fit on top of it. I had forgotten that. Imarked the front piece with a razor saw, then used the dremel to get every thing flat till it fit. Took some off the underside of the rear pieces also. Good to know about the heat shields. I too love movie clones. I have built a Predator/Billy SP1-shotgun Clone, a heat 733 Clone, a Sicario MP5 Clone and this Sanderson Clone. Movie Clones are an unappreciated field of endeavor. |

I basically just screwed the Shotgun through some extra holes in the LSO Handguard.  l  The screws thread into the scope mount holes on top of the mossberg shotgun receiver. |

Very cool and simple. How does it hold up to firing? Those LSO handguards aren’t cheap, did you use any kind of rubber gasket in the vent holes? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen your build posted before, it’s really cool. I’ve been thinking about finding a Cobrey 37mm “M203” for a Dutch build also. ETA. Where did you get a copy of Billy’s knife? Totally awesome. |

It holds up fine under recoil. The worst I have had happen is the recoil compresses the slip ring and the hand guard pops out. its a simple matter to pop it back in. That only happens when I shoulder the whole thing and aim it using the SP1 sights. its much better shooting it from the hip, as the recoil is not as bad. No Rubber Gaskets or anything. The top of the Mossberg receiver actually fits perfectly into the groove on the bottom of the LSO grip. The knife was like $60 on eBay. Looks like they are around $100 now Search Predator Knife on there and there are a bunch. Its made from the finest Pakistani steel. |

That offset angle is legit. Not that I’d plan to use ‘put the light on them and you’re close enough’ as a plan…but having had one instance of using my 6 o’clock mounted WML and pulling the trigger overseas….I saw the white light on target and hit the trigger to satisfactory effect. The HG mounted weaver/pic rail section with the light clamped on actually works in your favor for this build, since it slopes the beam into the point of impact of the barrel for at least CQB distances, but the light certainly moves around due to the HG mounting position. |

It would not take any of my GI charging handles. The upper was too tight. I'm guessing it was not finished properly or is out of spec. The rear sight had been assembled incorrectly. I was able to fix that. The front sight base is canted to the right. Waiting to see what they'll do with it. |
