The new Eotech 557.3X FTS model is a combination of the 557 sight with BDC for the M4 out to 600 yards, and the 3X Flip to Side Mount system. It makes for a little more economical way to enjoy the benefits of the 557 sight with magnifier than the 4x version, and this package saves you $149 over the cost of buying the components separately.

I want one!
But I'm a poor college student...and I'm getting a new upper... |
Thanks for sharing...this looks like a very good option for me. I have been looking at optics for a few days now and this set up looks awesome.
Any way to get a reticle picture looking through the actual eotech?
Thanks! |
As soon as more come in I will take a reticle picture. May be a while though, they sold out faster than I expected.

How much for the 557.4 XFTS?? I'm going to own one of these soon.
Will the 3X and/or 4X on the Flip to Side Mount system clear the GG&G A2 Back Up Iron Sight?
do you sell that QD mount alone? I have a eotech 4x magnifier and the mount it came with is wobbly. You can actually move it side to side without a tool.
Don't know, don't have any GG&G Sights here to test. My first instinct would be no. Jason |
No, I don't sell the mount separately but Samson may be able to help you out, they made the mounts. |

I have one of these combos and I noticed a couple of things about the Eotech 557 ballistic reticle.
The dots for longer ranges do not fade out when not magnified. Instead, they all seem about the same brightness and form a vertical line extending from the center of the reticle down. Is this normal? This weekend I plan to shoot with the system and will let you guys know my impressions. |

I went to the range this p.m. and mounted my eotech 557 and eotech 4x magnifier on my patriot ordnance AR-15.
The eotech 557 works just like other eotechs except that the buttons are on the side and it has the extra dots for holdover at long range. No trouble mounting it or sighting it in. Like all eotechs with the 65 moa circle, I consider it excellent for close range and indoor use. Since this one has the extra dots for holdover, I sighted it in at 100 yards from sandbags then began to play with it. The extra dots for holdover are not crisp and distinct like eotech shows them in sales literature. Instead, I would say that each dot is made up from several pixels, which gives the dots an indistinct look. Thus, the dots tend to run into each other but they can still be distinguished. And they do provide an immediate point of aim for targets at longer ranges, although the point of aim is not as precise as a crosshair. For someone who is not well-familiar with how to hold over without a ballistic reticle they are a definite advantage. Someone familiar with holdover could achieve almost the same thing with some range practice. One way to think of the dots for closer range is to view them as a post reticle. If you have used a post reticle hunting, then getting used to the vertical alignment of dots will be no problem. And of course the circle is there to make quick shots. For quick shots I like a circle best, which is why I bought eotech rather than aimpoint. Then I put the 4x magnifier on. If it is installed to tip to the right, mechanically the mount works perfectly. If it is installed to tip to the left, the ARMS lever is a little bit in the way. So I installed it to tip to the right. There seems to be a focus problem with my 4x magnifier. It is perfectly focused at 15 feet. But from 25 yards to 1500 yards, it is way out of focus. Does anyone know if the focus on the 4x magnifier user-adjustable? That is my report for now. More later after I have used the system more. I have ordered a GG&G Accucam to replace the factory eotech mount for the 557 because I like QD mounts on everything. |
Oops. I guess I will have to get a different eotech to use with the accucam. Can't have too many!!
I see that they are on back order at the moment. Is that price for the combo still applicable when they do arrive?
Did they ever fix the "swoosh" view of the dots when viewed through NVGs? I recall a thread on here that showed it and the dots looked more like checkmarks.

Got my EoTech and 3X today. Happy, happy, happy. Logging out to put it on my RRA.

I'm waiting on my kit from Brightflashlights.com
EoTech 557 + 3x Mag Combo... I think he has more available. http://www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=2&f=142 <---- His name is Calvin. Hes' in our industry section. Great guy to deal with. I'm buying more shit from him for sure. |
WTF? Are you seriously shitting in JTAC's thread? 500grains- Eotech reticles are known to be "pixely" due to the laser/hologram- what you really need to do is turn down the brightness until you don't really see this phenomenon. It took me a very long time to accept this on my old Eotechs but it's true. I finally got to the point where I'd turn it down so much that I could see right through the reticle even with one eye open- that worked very well for slower shooting, faster shooting benefitted from higher brightness but it didn't need to be too bright. Also, look at your Eotech from the front at your "normal" brightness setting. If you can see red around the glass, you definitely have it turned too high up. Hope this helps you. |

I think he was just pointing out where there where more available, this is not the EE... its the "New AR Products" forum. if every one that sells eotechs or any other product, came here and started a separate thread, it would be filled with similar and unneeded threads. |

Easy guy... I had a hard time finding a kit so I was trying to help someone out. |

Guys, sorry I don't get back over to this section very often.
It will be a while before I have more of these in, and if Calvin or others have them they are a great package at a great price. I didn't take any of the above comments as anything other than good info, but thanks to those who defended my thread just the same J |

I purchased an Eotech 557.223 with 4x.FTX magnifier in May. Both were defective right out of the box. The dots n the 557 looked more like commas, or check marks. And the 4x magnifier, which is supposed to be permanently focused, was out of focus for any distance farther than 25 yards. So I obtained a return authorization and send the products back to Eotech.
So far, SILENCE. Nothing from Eotech. Have they discontinued the 4x? I did not find it on their website. |

So often you see the FTS set up wrong as shown in the first pic.
It should 'flip' to the left to avoid ejecting brass and where it can serve as a spotting scope when you're just using the sight alone without the mag. All you need to do is turn the magnifier around in the mount before mounting it all on your weapon. Also, check Eotech's specs: the 3X is spec'd out to be a true 3.25 and the 4X is a true 3.75! You get .5X more for nearly twice the price??? Stick with the 3X! Otherwise, it's all good. |

I looked at this setup recently on a Stag flattop. There was a definate issus in that the sight is too tall to co witness with the BUIS. I saw it with 40L and they said that they had found nothing that could cowitness. Is this true?
