The bottom one is a 16" with inter gas (between mid and rifle), CLE made this from a Douglas blank. I wanted something with an exposed gas block look like the Mod1 but at 16". |

On one hand, this was bought to do an M110 clone so it needs to be coated. On the other, I don't care for FDE that light. I prefer Field Drab shades of FDE, but that's not clone. If I had another EMC, then I'd just do one of each but old 25's have been going for insane prices. |

I think paint on top of cerakote looks good. |

So I'm thinking of backordering this, in 16" and in rifle gas. Crazy or no? Criterion Hybrid CL I might settle on the Larue SAT and have a shop mill in some mlok so I can use some Magpul panels and a Zerobravo RHS. This way I can get the old school look and still be up to date with how I like my rifles. |

This is what I'm going for since this one doesn't use the 110 gas block. Even though this shade of FDE isn't my first choice, it still looks great. Even then, my EMC doesn't have the ambi lower so it's still not going to be 100%. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/204916/M110_Carbine_25989-1018036-2018782.jpg View Quote Honestly, I dig what you got going on right now. I went a little nuts with mine and I went so far down the rabbit hole it would’ve been cheaper to just buy one of the mk11’s that was sold commercially back in the day. I went and treated it like an AR clone not realizing wtf I was getting myself into. So I get the apprehension and say it’s definitely warranted. But, I’ll counter that by saying when you get it done it’s worth it all! So basically I’m no help... |
