Spent a lot of time using acetone with a qtip and brush to get what was left of the krylon off the upper.
Now I'm having a hard time deciding between CompM2, TA01NSN, or TA31RCO-M4/M150.

Perks of sometimes forgetting what’s in the parts box makes for a good weekend. Considering I haven’t had to change the batteries in this thing even though I've found it a handful of times left on the next day or days later it’s making a serious contention for staying out on this upper. Figure I’ll run it and if it takes a shit I hear they get a coupon if you send it in to Eotech.

I know Type A isn't your typical GWOT name, but they do sell a 15.1" recce with a medium FF RAS. Seeing this really pushes me toward the "mini Mod 1" idea with an intermediate gas barrel to expose the gas block. This would give you everything aesthetically from the Mod 1 in a more compact, rigid, lighter weight package using a 16" barrel. I see no real drawbacks.

Unless I'm missing something. Ideas?

Great idea, CMC. Been thinking a long time about the same with a URX II instead. Love it with the FF RAS too

I can only find their 18" intermediate. I need a 16" with enough meat up front to contour for an SPR collar.

This is going to be a ways down the road. Finishing the NSW put a hurting on my gun fund. And hopefully I can get the Daryl Holland back in house. But this is definitely my next build.

Yo D. Wilson has blanks with .620 inside diameter he can put on any barrel as long as the OD is above .620

That ops inc builders kit is pretty cool. I considered snagging one up, then they sold out. It's nice that it's user serviceable. And if you ever wanted, you could have the end caps welded and it'd look really close to the real one. What material is the tube/end caps?

eta- that eotech needs to be behind glass in a museum. I remember geno had one for sale for a while. That one and yours are the only ones I've ever seen.

Very nice! I recently got an old school surefire/laser products light. I'm looking for the pressure switch to go with it now to finish a pre-416 cag cqbr. That 551 looks almost new. I also found a new old stock surefire m14 barrel mount I’m not sure what to do with yet.

Thanks! I definitely policies out on the light. It’s the first one I’ve ever come across where the tape switch was holding on by a thread. It’s been living on my Mk11 but I decided to use it for this build. The Mk11 weighs enough already and doesn’t really need a light.

The TA31 that I actually bought new had 2 carry handle screw/washer kits included.
Anybody else ever see this?

And French, if you need another Trijicon matching washer I think I might have one available @ n/c to a fellow forum member.

Guys how much do arms #22 rings suck? If I get the adjustable versions and make em tight, would they move? Or am I better off GWOTing with something more refined like some NF A107s…

Edit: it’s important to me to GWOT with style, but it’s also important to me that my scope not move/rings maintain zero through use.

Honestly they vary from set to set. I’ve had sets that were rock solid, I’ve had sets that rattled like bad fitting receivers and I’ve had in between. If you don’t care about the stops then the newer ones should be ok, I would still use NF ultralights if you can.

My experience is that the 22s generally work out if you haven't moved them around on various uppers.
Which pretty much rules out the used market "no hump" early model 22s like used on clone builds.
I have actually had pretty good luck with ARMS optic mounts and have found the one piece bases like used on
the ACOG mounts or with track mount rings to have a high degree of repeatable zero.
I even switched my Mod0 to the #35 base with track mount rings to eliminate the #22 ring zero shift, and to
chase improved accuracy and alignment with the AN/PVS-22 clip on night vision.

This maintained the "ARMS" look, and was worth about 1/4 or more MOA at extended ranges.
Accuracy being much more important than "clone" points, I was later told by a sniper instructor that
one of the spotters had horse traded his Mod0 optics rig into the same configuration in Iraq.

For what it is worth, this "non-clone" rifle has a Defender 2000 lower, Krieger barrel, genuine OPS 12th suppressor,
Leupold 60050 M3 Ill Mk4 3-9 TMR, and the correct parts from 2004.

Trijicon’s variable scopes are so underrated. I loved my 1-8 Accupower and 1-4 Accupoint. The reticles weren’t great but the build and glass quality was amazing.

This. I was running an Accupoint 1-4 circa 2011-2012 and it was an excellent scope. Trijicon has really come along way with their reticles, both from the Accupower to the Credo. My only gripe about my AP was the weak sauce reticle (TR24-G).

I had one with the amber German 4 and loved it. I replaced it with a Vortex Gen II-E but still regret that decision. You won’t be disappointed with the Accupoint.

Once I recover from going completely full retard on reloading and wheel guns, I intend to grab a credo or two.
