Just decided I liked the rifles I already have the way they are. It was pretty easy to order a complete rifle and I won't have to engrave this thing either. Im sure I'll form 1 a rifle at some point though. |

I would enjoy a factory SBR at some point. Probably a colt 6933 That was my first choice. It's slightly cheaper than the BCM also. Like $75 I think. But my local gun shop is great, they are a BCM dealer, and they don't do NFA transfers. They said they couldn't get the Colt so I decided to go with the BCM. The other AR SBR I want is a 6921 or comparable M4 carbine. Might just order another BCM if I decide to do that. |

You guys have cost me some money this past week!
Some old meets new. Small things I want to change: -Tear drop FA as I've never been much of a fan -A1 aperture for A2 as the A1 is so small -I love the A1 grip but my mottled one doesn't look right on this build. I can't believe the A2 even exists as the A1 is far superior. I'm going to try out the RRA below as a simple solution or I may find a newer looking A1. |

Try out the Lonestar Ordnance grip, if you haven't.

I don't know what I'm looking at but I like what I see. Question regarding sight apertures: What should I replace the A1 with? A2? I see some aftermarket options as well. I don't anticipate doing much long range or precision based shooting with this rifle. It's just going to be a blaster. |

Technically not a clone as it is the real deal. More about the rifle was posted here in the Retro forum. |

My rifle was too long, so I spent $200 and waited 6 months to make it shorter. Then it was too loud, so I spent another $200 and waited another 6 months to make it quieter. This made it longer again.

I don't know for absolute sure, but they were about that length. I believe they were Colt 653's originally. |

It's just going to be a blaster. i usually leave the a1 apertures in and sight them accordingly. i know alot of people switch over to the a2 apertures and sight in similar to their other guns , either a 100 or 50 m zero. |

I had it done like the real thing. If I remember correctly, you leave a little bit of the old FSB shoulder from a 20" M16A1 barrel which acts as the shoulder for the crush washer after the barrel chop. Look up John Thomas if you want to get as accurate as possible (cloning the M16A1 Israeli chop downs). |

With gas block sizes this does not compute If the barrel is on the thicker side of the tolerance range, there is enough material to make a 13" carbine length barrel from an M16A1 barrel. There just won't be the large shoulder behind the FSB like on a factory carbine barrel. |
