Just got my Aero M16A4 lower in today. Need barrel, lower parts and buffer tube and I'm set. Begging the wife for the ACOG is turning out to be tricky.

Is there any trick to identifying an A2 buttstock assembly as genuine Colt?
I’ve no reason to suspect that it’s not, but for what I paid for it I’d like to have “proof”,,, but there doesn’t appear to be any markings on it at all. |

View Quote The rifle receiver extension should be gray in color versus black as supplied by every other company that I've seen. The A2 spacer should be white/cream in color. Buffer and spring, no clue. As long as the buffer is the proper weight (5.1oz. I believe), I wouldn't worry about it. Lastly, the buttstock screw should have a red nylock patch on it. |

I've had my PSA CHF 20" rifle kit in for a week or so, but I haven't taken it to the range. What's the best way/distance to zero the carry handle to have the flattest trajectory with 55gr ball?
Attached File Attached File I assembled it with an Aero M16A4 lower, and I supplemented the kit with a GI carry handle and some surplus A2 handguards. I have a GI side sling swivel that I've been considering adding, too, but I think I'll save that until I eventually acquire an M5 RAS and ACOG. I'm kind of bummed that the barrel doesn't have that slight relief cut on the last 1/2" of muzzle end before the threads, but I'll get over it. |

So, with an A4 build, do folks use the mount that comes with the ACOG, or do y’all replace it with something else?

Where's a good place to get a correct tick style selector lever?
