Yerp.
FYI, you can punch out the roll pin, back out the screw a turn or two, and your latch won't rattle anymore. The stock will still rattle, but the overall noise is much less.

Yeah that's what I use it for exclusively now.

A few years back tho I used it to hold chem lights under the SOPMOD storage tube, we all did. I'm glad that fad died off.

That too. I never actually picked one up although I remember searching the EE for one mult times, a few years back. I would never use the thing anyways tho, just like the chem lights. I don't even combat zone bro!

The sling retention I find extremely useful tho

Wissota- I did. But then I put some actual thought and logic into it.

I don’t even care about the roll mark that much but like the area above the back of the grip. The curved part that your palm fits it. Mine was super rough and uneven compared to colt completes I’ve bought. I saw some posts of some other issues here or on another forum. To me they seem like definite blems that colt decided to sell without mentioning they were blems but whatever. Maybe I’m crazy.

It's for attaching items.  Signal panels, chemical light sticks, bangs, smoke grenades, t-kits, bandages, whatever

We've been sticking stuff to buttocks for ages, mostly things we need staged at objectives

ETA: if the stock rattles I just stretch the spring out or replace it.  Shoving earplugs in there helps too

That sounds like a collectors piece. I've got 2 days worth of belly button lint soaked in ball sweat and Iran's "non existent" nuclear weapons arsenal to offer up in trade. Your item may be invaluable though

I removed the front sight post assembly, I can still use it

ETA: I'll take the bellybutton lint.  I have no room for the non-existent nuclear arsenal.
Not unless I move the Loch Ness monsters swim tank out.  The kids have become attached though, she's gonna stay or I'll catch an earful.

Maybe stuck with dry handjobs and hard stares (at the same time) for a whole week.

I can't risk it.

The only caveat I have is you must drive your neighbors absolutely insane with that barrel. Whether that means cutting to 10.3" and putting a muzzle brake on it, or just putting a muzzle brake on it as is.

When I'm not wearing my rifle but still want the sling attached for "go-ready", the sling is quite annoying to me and catches on everything, is always in the way etc. This technique is quite glorious. Learned it from an ex SF guy on youtube a couple years ago.(he used it for in the vehicle, I use it at home and in vehicle)

Well sure, unless you have ready access to 3/8" Type 1 rubber retaining bands.  They're usually used for holding slack on static lines, but they're awesome for holding other stuff

Or you could use the black rubber bands that come with tourniquets

ETA
LOL Amazon really does sell everything

$7 for 10 rubber bands.  Specific rubber bands, no doubt, but still rubber bands.

I'm in the wrong racket
