They were NOT part of SOPMOD. Units that were treated better for equipment, like the Navy SEALs, our SF CIF company, etc were already using them before then, at least a year. The guy on the front cover of "Black Rifle II" was from our CIF company, and that photo was taken in June 99. Theirs could have been COTS purchases though. The newly arrived M68s quickly replaced the ACOG NSN Reflex sights. By the time of a June 2000 deployment I went on, almost all were gone, or related to things like the 249s. |

New build. Looking forward to fleshing it out, I’ve got a stripped M4A1 PSA lower that I’ll build up for this but slapped it on my CQBR lower to test fit. I’ve got an old 951 and KAC grip that I’ll put on it and I’ll likely try to pick up a TA01-NSN

Thanks!! So the LMT FDE is more brown than the B5. Might just be the lighting in the picture, but does the B5 have a more orange/yellow tint to it?

Many thanks for all the responses. How is the lockup on the latest B5 enhanced SOPMOD stocks (i.e. tight, loose, etc...)?

Originally Posted By jrs93accord: The LMT FDE is more brown like most FDE furniture is. The Coyote Brown B5 SOPMOD Enhanced has sort of a goldish-brown hue. It is close to FDE, but just a shade darker. Even with FDE, you have varying hues depending on who the manufacturer may be. Personally, I like the contrast in color that the Coyote Brown brings against the varying shades of FDE you see on Block IIs. FYI, Primary Arms has the B5 Gen 1 SOPMOD Enhanced Gov't Contract Overruns (black or coyote brown). View Quote The CB is also close to the Taupe color used by KAC |

I’m putting the finishing pieces on my block 1 clone and don’t know if I should rattle can or not rattle can it that is the question. I’m going for a early GWOT ~2002 SEAL clone. If I should spray it any suggestions on a pattern that was used in the early part of the war?
