With that said, would I be booed out of this thread if I tossed an SWFA SS 1-6x on it?    SWFA has a decent sale on them for Black Friday and I've read some good reviews about it.

lol.  I'd love to pick one of those up, I'm just balking at the cost though.  I still need to pick up a PVS-14 and I keep pushing it back so I can buy these expensive optics.

They're still on the list though.

Nice, I like the VMR-2 over the JM-1 reticle.  That's still on my short list as well.    I'm way too indecisive.

It also says "Add to cart for best price" right below $629.

When you add it to the cart, it shows as $565.

The two 14.5s have Colt SOCOM barrels.  Besides the rail, the two have identical setup.  The shorty upper receiver group's barrel is cut from a Colt M4 barrel.  The gas port is enlarged from 0.063" to 0.073".  Optics are EOTech EXPS3-0, EOTech G33, and Elcan SU-230 HD ( Heavy Duty ).  WMX200 lights are either VBL-600-A26 or VBL-600-A27.  The lowers have Sprinco Blue and extractor spring and o-ring and H2 buffer, and Geissele SSA or SSA-E triggers.  Lasers are either PEQ-15 or LA-5/PEQ UHP.

Nice pair of 14.5's. I have a BCM 14.5 Middy with the Geissele Mk1 rail and while I agree that it's a barrel nut is stout, the overall handling feels pretty light. I jokingly call it my Block 2.5 because everything else but the rail is Block II inspired with a Tan EXPS, FDE SF Suprpessor (legacy and not the SOCOM), LMT SOPMOD, SF M600 and I have a CQB-R with an ELCAN, Tan KAC QDSS-NT4, SF M300 and I pretend it's my "SOPMOD Kit" .. It's a 40mm. I did a trade for a title 1 receiver . I really had no idea what I was going to do with it but it's worth it.  The cheeto round are fun

As for the black elcan I have an fde one on the way....though 8th kind of thinking I might just spray pain the whole gun

Hey I'm itching to get back into the clone world and want to make a PR clone, would a T-1 be acceptable or should I go exps-3 or ta31f? Can't do an elcan as those are much too expensive for my tastes. Regretted selling my block II upper so I've got to get back in somehow.

Of those you listed the EXPS3-0 would be the only acceptable option for a PR clone.

TA31s and T1s have been spotted in the wild, so all are good for a clone.

Of those you listed the EXPS3-0 would be the only acceptable option for a PR clone.

TA31s and T1s have been spotted in the wild, so all are good for a clone.

Well that narrows it down, I've already got a T-1 so I may pick up a SOCOM upper throw the T-1 and call it quits. It is tempting to get a acog but then I'd feel like It would be more of a big army clone. Either way it's time to start cloning again.

On a phased replacement though? We've seen TA31's and T1's on full Block II's, but I don't remember seeing any on a PR.

I think it was way back in the thread but I could've sworn I saw a PR with a T-1 and magnifier. Might not have been a PR though.

TurbineGuy posted this in the BlockI/PR thread.

Yeah, I was actually the one that posted that, but I got yelled at because it wasn't an M4A1.

He's Force Recon too, IIRC:

I think I may stick with a T-1 and go for the look those have. If nothing else I'll probably go to an EOTech to please the clone sticklers.

In the end, the most important thing is that it works for you. If it deviates and you cannot post pics in a clone thread, then it is what it is, but function over fashion and all that. Don't get me wrong, I love my clones, but also find I like all the pieces and parts that make them up. For me, it must be equally about function as it is about aesthetics, otherwise, I'm going to side with function and abandon the thread from a posting perspective.
