Not always on a Mk18 Mod 0.  Just had 17 Mk18 Mod 0's that where going back to Crane in late Apr/early May this year.   Only one was marked as a Mk18 Mod 0 (Colt M4A1 lower), All others were not marked Mk18s Mod 0.  One had a Colt M16A1 receiver,  and other 15 were all Colt M4A1 lowers.  I posted of them in this thread at the time if you want to go looking for them.

Damn, that A1 lower looks like it was refinished at some point (almost has that "orange peel" look to it).  Or is that just how anodizing from that era looks?

My understanding is that most M16A1 lowers used in the Mk12 & Mk18 projects were refinished black...and most of them look like this ^ ....my guess is a duracoat or something similar was used over the original anodizing.

A ton of tenacity and even more luck is required. I scored 1 used and 1 new FDE RIS II non-FSP in a span of 15 mins a couple months ago. Paid 700 for both. Are you a part of the FB clone group?

its an issued optic, albeit different kit, so it is possible.  a t-1 is more likely.

WOW. good luck on your end. I have been cycling through using google "within 24 hours" search, ARFCOM EE both used and new sections, M4Carbine.net, gunbroker, ebay, armslist, snipershide, calguns, all day every day for a coming on 2 weeks now. Its getting tiring lol. Yes i just found out about and joined the group today.

They definitely show up on Block II shorties every once in awhile. I could find the pics if you need to see them, but they're for sure Kosher in terms of a military optic. They're not part of SOPMOD so the people that have them probably have them either issued through Big Army or their specific unit or whatever else. I don't know if we've ever seen one on a 14.5" build, but that doesn't mean it isn't reasonable to assume they exist given how many we've seen on the 10.3" uppers.

I'm in the same boat. Just completed a mod0 ish build and just like the m4a1 FSP, I do not like the FSB there. They look great looking at them, but behind them I don't like them.

If you don't already have any upper parts, I'd recommend just buying a complete 6921 upper.

What rail?  If you have a DD M4 RIS II, attach a detachable carrying handle to 1/2 the upper receiver and other half to the RIS.  Then tighten the screws down alternating screws as you tight.  This will help to keep it all aligned.

Thanks guys, decided to run my ta-31rco on my 6920 with ris ii fsp, LMT sopmod and KAC rear 2-600. The FSB ghosting around in the bottom of the acog was kind of annoying but I think I'm gonna deal with it. Pretty minute in reality. Don't worry it's painted and plenty dirty as well.
