You can see it's slightly hovering from this angle. This is my 4 prong after about an hour of brass brush scrubbing and scraping with a brass scraper :\.

This suppressor thing wasn't all you had dreamed it up to be, is it?

Gotta worry about baffle erosion and SF4P erosion now. An OCD man's nightmare!
Lol. Nah, I love it. Gonna get another soon - probably a SOCOM SB to have a backup for when this one needs re-coring. I'll get an NT4 at some point soon as well, but my next sizable clone purchase is gonna be a Colt 2018 SOCOM. Gotta have dat lower :\.

Actually only cleaned it because it was still sticking a bit to the can. Last time the same amount of cleaning got it looking new, this time it must have gotten significantly hotter, lol. Shit was baked on ra-dicalus. I'd probably have to soak it in solvent overnight to break loose the stuff between the tines.
Getcha one of deez.

For the 1-device owner or someone that never cleans, it would definitely be a waste. But if one shoots a shit load or has several md's, it might be worth it. I'd probably get one just because I like having an excuse to buy new tools.

Folks with their 10.3" 0.070" gas ports. When suppressed, where are your casings ejecting at?  Mine is at 2 o'clock.

It would definitely make life easier; seems the only issue I have with the RC sticking is related to carbon build up on the MD. I'd prefer to not clean it, but I don't want it to lock up completely. I've tried just brushing a little off, but that seems to rough up the carbon and make even more stick. So, I clean it off all the way when it starts sticking too much.

True, but it's a genuine Colt with M4A1 and Govt Property markings. That's not to say I'd complain if they dropped the stupid UID engraving and put Safe/Semi/Auto instead of Safe/Fire, though.

Still, it's the most correct factory Colt lower available short of an M16.

Haha... it's a REAL Colt not an 80% that "identifies" as a Colt ;p.

Nah, I just like that it's a factory Colt with those markings. Also ups my chances of matching the anodizing to my Colt uppers. If I had more confidence I could get an 80% anodized to be very similar to Colt anodizing, I'd probably go that route.

its 2018, our lowers should be able to identify how they want

honestly though, when comparing my issued lower to the looks of a regular bought lower.. the colors dont seem too far off.

I love the way yer pics turn out though, mine just ehh, don't quite do it. Cement backdrop with whatever seasonal debris is floating in my yard gets the point across.

Very cool.

Seems like an old gun:

- it’s marked Colt’s Mfg not Colt Defense
- it has the rectangular UID label
- it has a non-ambi non-“hot dog” selector

Love that it’s got a G trigger

Clone nerd question — are there periods after “GOVT” and “5.56 MM” on the rollmark?

On the "COLT'S MFG. CO. INC" it's marked "GOVT." and "5.56 M.M."
but on "COLT DEFENSE" it's marked "5.56MM"
at least in my experience with M4s i've been issued. CD might have a different answer.

Thanks for the pictures. Just trying to get a idea of what a M600 (600 lumen) with a gear sector mount would look like. Or if I’m better off using the m300c (500 lumen)
BTW Thanks for the mount

@Bhavin22 here's mine stock mount vs gear sector offset. The M300 looks a lot better on an offset mount than the M600 does IMO. But looks doesn't mean shit at the end of the day. FWIW I went back to the factory mount just because I am so used to having my light at 3:00. But the gear sector does tuck it in better

Yeah its a little goofy lookin' because of how long the M600 is. The M300 looks tits offset in a Gear Sector tho. Especially in the slim mount like krdt has.

Link Posted: 11/4/2018 10:36:40 PM EST
[#27]
Either one you go with I'd prob ditch the mount and use that gear sector you got. The thumb screw messes with me at lest. Every grip that felt normal  would leave the thumb nut in the way except for the choke hold on a vfg. Keep in mind, with a suppressor, you can get the m600 out a Loy farther than the m300. That's one advantage. And the fact that the m600df can achieve 1500 lumens is pretty cool. I'm sure the m300 is prob about that bright by now. Matter of preference more than anything.

I ordered a SOCOM RC in FDE in Dec, and it didnt get to my SOT until Early Feb, they said it was a form 3 being held up when I called.  But, my dealer got it the next day, so I am thinking that they did the 3 when I called.  Its approved now, and wasnt a bad enough experience to keep me from buying again, I'll just follow up a lot quicker next time.

I might have a line on some used NT4s from a PD department.

My buddy SOT is awaiting their transfer on forms currently.

Will post in the thread if he approves with price, but what he quoted me was such a stupid good deal, I couldn't pass it up.

ETA: per my buddy they are black and were used. He suspects from eyeballing them, pretty low round count. He did tell me they look ugly because of he way they were clamped in the cruisers removed a lot of the finish on them, but sounded to me like nothing a little rattle can or cerakote wont fix. I told him I would buy one, sight unseen.

Waiting on the "definitely not used or shot the shit out of" 212 from AU. Last time I'll be dealing with them. But that's neither here nor there.

Back to your regular stuff.

I sure hope mine comes back in 10 days :\. Even if I get a background delay, that'd still be waaay less than my last one.

JDM burnt Ti version. Cost: 113,000 Japanese Yen.

In other news, should I buy a Brownells Retro A1 lower and stamp it to get closer to a MK18 Mod 0 clone instead of my current Daniel Defense DDMK18 factory SBR'd lower? Or no...?

I already did. This is the build in its current state. I swapped my Colt LE6920 "M4 CARBINE" marked lower to my Block II build. But this DD lower is driving me nuts

An A1 lower would be pretty snazzy. If you wanted to get really fancy, you could get one of the Colt M16A1 lowers with Govt Property markings ;p.

I used a camera with a memory card, but same difference.

Whoever your local chief law enforcement officer is. I used Sheriff Penzone of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department.

I just used the passport photo app, worked for my silencershop kiosk thing as well. I've used my Local Sheriff's office and also my State Attorney General too before. Never had any issues.
