I don’t think it’s a horrible price in this climate, gonna be tough to find them for $250 these days.
DD is charging $339 for there 10.3.

CD works SF guns. Things are different there.

Big Army only puts out guns in the configurations authirized by the TMs. If a gun comes back to brigade level or higher  for mainenance with non issue parts, it WILL be re-set to issue configuration prior to return.

In afghan, we would explain this to soldiers trying to give us guns for annual service and allow them the opportunity to get their original parts from their kit or from their unit armorer. We could do it two ways. Have them re-set to issue config themselves prior to turn in, or bring us the parts and we'd perform service, re-install the issue parts then return the weapon in issue config with their parts in a large ziplock.

Believe me, we didn't want to screw with their guns like that, but contractual obligations and Army rules dictated.

With all possible current discounts, the base price comes in around $270 for the FSB and $213 for the stripped. Not a screaming deal, but all things considered, it's not horrible. AU is $250 and GRT is $265/$230 when they have stock (and I'm not aware of anyone else with stock, so that has to be factored as well).

FYI, a stripped DD 10.3" is $240 base with discounts on Brownells, but it's backorder only.

That part is the same on my side of the house (lost a QD endplate that way because I didn’t feel like swapping it out so I just ate the cost). I was just stating how all of my 10.3’s have been issued from the armory before I mess with them and throw all my stuff on.

If I were to be more correct and use a Colt grip is this the one I should be looking at?

http://www.specializedarmament.com/ar-15-lower-receivers-parts/pistol-grip-m16a2-colt-current/

Unfortunately Specialized Armament has a fifty dollar minimum and the only other thing that I could use from there right now is Trigger Guard Assembly
Part Number : SP61970

Found a non-hotdog safety and so I replaced the KAC due to this rifle no longer reflecting a MARSOC clone. Also changed to an older hogue grip that didn't allow for the KAC ambi. Just need a colt tear drop foward assist and my LMT sopmod from back home to throw on this rifle and I'll be repainting it to better fit my surroundings.

I don't keep a lot of stock on barrels but I can order just about anything.

It is a constant juggling act trying to put money towards parts/accessories for stock and then for tools and other items that I manufacture.

Just shoot me a DM.

Since you all would know best, is $399 the going rate for a complete Colt M4 Carbine lower?  Curious if that’s Rona/election pricing or typical.

Is the CQD end plate needed? I thought Auggie explained on page 16 that not all of the Block 11's had them. My build is almost 100% correct but I don't have the end plate. I am considering adding it but I don't like the look of it.

$399 is pre 2020 pricing. You would do good to find one under $900 right now. If you know where some are for $399 let me know.

Then don't do it. If your not building a mk18 mod 0 then really isn't necessary. It's just kinda of an iconic part that everyone throws on their rifles. Like it was mentioned, mostly used on navy guns. If you don't want it, don't use it. You won't be faulted for it.

See heres the thing skip.

(its not a real su230)

Standard reticle elcan, laser engraved and UID added to resemble su230. I have had 2 previous su230s and I reckon im the only person in North America who prefers the commercial over the mil reticle. Comparing the engraving to the real su230 it is imperceptible as far as I can tell. Only way to know is to look through the glass.

Also, I love Marty Robbins.

It was just a test rail that never actually saw use.

DD only has one of those rails in the vault. Never fielded, only produced for a test.

I'd buy one just because. But I'd want it in Black because I'm a weirdo.

I offered him $2500 cash for one once and he told me no. Not sure if that was before or after the alleged SR-25 trade.

There was literally one in the EE, I think this year, that some schmuck wanted $5,000 for. I sent it to my buddy at DD and he said that he would love to do a run of them because he liked them and to stop people from asking INSANE prices.
