Saving me the time to search these past 1xxx pages I may or may not have tried to comb; are there any pictures of a CQBR (mod0 thru block2) with an ACE stock (a la mk12modh)?

Need some advice from the experts here... My blk 2 currently has the old DD 10.3" barrel with the .082 gas port. It's super over gassed when shooting suppressed so I'm looking for a smaller gas port + clone correct barrel.
I found an FN 10.3" SOCOM with a ~.069 gas port, pre-dimpled. *Are FN barrels used in the wild? *Do issued rifles have low profile gas blocks installed via set screws on pre-dimpled barrels(not pinned)? *Any idea if a pre-dimpled FN barrel(2 dimples) would work out-of-the-box(i.e. no alignment issues) with a DD low profile gas block(https://danieldefense.com/mk12-low-profile-gas-block.html) All the rifles' I've ever built had the gas blocks pre-installed or the pin slot pre-drilled. Thanks in advance Edit: Continued trying to search through this thread and found at least one post regarding the surplus uppers acquired through TA that had FN barrels and set-screwed gas blocks.. So I might have at least answered one part of my question. |

Mk12 gas block is the correct gas block for build. Use a drop of red loctite 242 on the screws and torque to 25 in lbs. Lost count how many I've rebuilt over the last 6 yrs. View Quote @Cloner556 Is it just like a warranty replacement or something? Did you just reach out to DD and ask them? I have an older .08x gas port barrel and it would be cool to get the correct .070 ported barrel. It would also give me a fun excuse to tear down and rebuild my upper for no real good reason, since I can’t even own a suppressor in my state. |

View Quote Curious about the change to the gas block...this is the description on the Brownells MK18 DD stripped upper. It’s a little unclear that they are using the MK12 GB...I don’t understand why they don’t just say it’s the “MK12 Gas Block”. Makes me think it’s something different now: “The gas system is made up of the set screw Torx low-profile gas block CNC machined from 4140 hardened steel with mil-spec heavy phosphate coating.” |
