Yep, they usually aren't all that bad price wise on Amazon, plus if you have Prime you get free two day shipping, which is nice considering how large they are. As to the X300, I wasn't sold on the idea at first, but I've definitely come around to it. Small and light, pretty bright output with decent spill (it's the X300U model), and the switch on it works perfectly where it's at and doesn't appear to be easy to accidentally discharge it. All in all, I'm pretty impressed with it.

Does anyone know the model of surefire light Axe used on his cqbr? I'm at work and stuck to only using my iPhone and I can't zoom in good enough to make out any detail in the photos. Asking because I'm working on my pet project in of cloning Axe's carbine.

The ATPIAL (C or not) is an IR illuminator and pointer designed for shooting with NVGs. Almost every single shooting activity that occurs during the day time (hunting, target, etc…) is just as relevant, and arguably more fun, at night. |

This is by far the most fun, rewarding, and expensive project I have done. feel free to email me if you have questions or need help. ATPIAL-C? Do you have Nods to use one? 10.3 barrel? You wanted to know which parts are hard to find/get, it all depends on your patience and check book. Everything else is pretty standard, for the most part. All told, I've only got the ATPIAL-C left to get for mine, and that'll bring the total cost in mine to right around $7300 give or take, for a complete build. YMMV. Thanks for the reply! May try and do both MK18 & CQBR NO Nods but, going to get the ATPIAL-C for the cool factor since they are available. Barrel I was thinking cut down some 6920 barrels? Whats the best option for a can? the KAC or the SF SOCOM? |
