I like the X300 too. Yep, they usually aren't all that bad price wise on Amazon, plus if you have Prime you get free two day shipping, which is nice considering how large they are. As to the X300, I wasn't sold on the idea at first, but I've definitely come around to it. Small and light, pretty bright output with decent spill (it's the X300U model), and the switch on it works perfectly where it's at and doesn't appear to be easy to accidentally discharge it. All in all, I'm pretty impressed with it. |

Does anyone know the model of surefire light Axe used on his cqbr? I'm at work and stuck to only using my iPhone and I can't zoom in good enough to make out any detail in the photos. Asking because I'm working on my pet project in of cloning Axe's carbine.

Almost every single shooting activity that occurs during the day time (hunting, target, etc…) is just as relevant, and arguably more fun, at night. |

Hello all! I'm looking into starting a clone and was wondering if you guys could share some advice and let me know what parts and pieces to start getting first and will be the hardest to get? Any help would be much appreciated.

Assuming CQBR: Assuming you're in an NFA-friendly state, I would start with setting up an NFA trust and get your form 1 submitted to the ATF for a lower. That'll be a process if you are new to the NFA game. Next, in order of difficulty, I would also use that NFA trust sooner than later to start the process of getting a suppressor, since that will take much longer than the form 1 (though form 4's are getting quicker lately). If you can find the rail, grab it, as they seem to be feast or famine. What optic are you going for? Eotech? You can find those all day long. Elcan SpectreDR? Start looking and saving your pennies. ATPIAL-C? Do you have Nods to use one? 10.3 barrel? You wanted to know which parts are hard to find/get, it all depends on your patience and check book. Everything else is pretty standard, for the most part. All told, I've only got the ATPIAL-C left to get for mine, and that'll bring the total cost in mine to right around $7300 give or take, for a complete build. YMMV. |

I started the 6-7 Jail month wait for the ATF for my SF SOCOM RC Tan. I bought one from the www.silencershop.com and two comps./ SOCOM Muzzle brakes. And I bought on sale from Midwayusa.com Eotech G33 Tan free shipping and Eotech EXPS3-2 Tan Free shipping also.

View Quote After the form 3 clears to your local dealer, you should have a somewhat quick time. My form 4 cleared in about 3.5 months, despite ATF saying 6-9 months. It's been getting quicker. That said, good luck on the wait. |

I tried something different and went trust route. I will have my MK18MOD1 right real soon. And waiting for a KAC Taupe Front sight from a member here. And I got from Clydearmory a COLT 6920 SOCOM M4A1 shipping to my local FFL for pickup.

I wonder if I should just order a sheet from Hong Kong as a back up. I used to think they were kinda dorky; however, after all the time and money I spent getting mine nearly clone perfect, I've decided that I can't live without it. I wish I had the balls to rattle can this bitch like some of you guys, but that it will never happen! Thank you guys for responding to my questions about the stickers, if anyone knows another avenue for these, please let me know. |

And over X-Mas I sold my Colt LE6920 LEO/MIL marked, 300 rds. fired w/ a KAC RAS installed for $1,100.00 Does this sound like a good price I sold it for?

Anybody have a copy of the graphics for the stickers? I could go down to a print place and see what I can work out for the guys in the thread.

Any help would be much appreciated. View Quote I would strongly suggest reading the last version of this thread ( the one that got shut down) in its entirety. It will save you a ton of money, help you avoid mistakes, and give you ideas.Obviously, read this entire thread as well! I did a registered lower and SOCOM RC on a trust, both form 4s, and e-filed them (currently unavailable for form 4). Depending on your budget these can take a while. I make good money (not as much as some of the guys in here) and after reading both MK18 threads, now closed, I made my first purchases (noted above) in Oct 2013. I'm waiting on a couple of items, G33, QR sticker, and teardrop FA, and then it will be done. Some items can be harder to find than others (taupe front sight, FDE DD MK18 rail, etc...), you should snatch those up as soon as you see them. This is by far the most fun, rewarding, and expensive project I have done. feel free to email me if you have questions or need help. I don't post very often; however, I check this thread about 5 times per week. |
