same here. When I saw that one in the ee next to some newer solid black ones, I knew I had to have it. The finish is soo smooth, it feels like a chrome carrier. Only time can produce that kinda finish.

Yup,  MOHOC Camera.

Good in normal light, shit in low light. No image stabilization, but it does ok all things considered.

Best feature is the fact that you can turn it on without having to look at it to see if a little light is on (like a GoPro) and it has a series of vibration codes it gives to let you know if it's turned on, in stand-by mode, or actually recording. You can feel these through the helmet.  I've done a few skydives where I forgot to turn on the camera before exiting and turned it on during free fall.  This is simply something you cannot do with any other camera without a remote.

Another great feature is that the aperture can be rotated if the camera is mounted on the side of a helmet.

Little bit of trivia: I bought my MOHOC brand new from Luke Aikins (the Redbull guy who did the 25k no parachute, net landing jump) for $100 and a bottle of Grey Goose, not long after I took a canopy course from him.  He's an all around good dude and solid human being.  I can't speak highly enough of him and his family.

Examples of the footage you can get with a MOHOC are below. First is a 28k HALO I did (one of two. The second one was a night jump. I'll put that link right below so you can get an example of it's low light capabilities as well).

Day Jump
28,000'+ HALO skydive 22 April 2019

Night Jump
28,000'' Night HALO skydive 16 Aug 2019

Bonus Helicopter jump
Chelan Helo jump 7 Oct 2018

Last vid is keeping on topic.  Helmet footage of some simple MK18 Mod1 CQBR clone drills.  Camera was placed on the left side flag patch spot. I need to actually push it back about an inch so It will get more of the downrange area when my eyes drop to the sights.

I love all the machine marks they would leave around the gas key and other cutout areas. I'll take one off your hands.

Noticed at the range the other day that the rifle was ejecting at the 2 o'clock so I ordered a H3 buffer. Been running a H2 with a heavy spring, but I guess it wasn't enough.

Is 2 o’clock not good? My Colt 10.3 factory upper has been spitting brass at 2 o’clock suppressed for 5 years. 3 o’clock without the can, which is almost never. Carbine spring and H1. It feels smooth and never hiccuped, so I haven’t fucked with it.

Not bad, just harder on components, I think. An h2 will slow things down a bit.

Stole this pic from the gwot thread. Another 6 o'clock light setup

3:00-4:30 is perfect ejection.

suppressed ejecting at 2 = over gassed. If you went with a h2 (h2 recommended for 10.3 unsuppressed/ H3 suppressed) it should put you at 3 suppressed and 4 unsuppressed.

H2 buffer for 10.3" suppressed/unsuppressed, 14.5" carbine and mid-length gas suppressed/unsuppressed.  One select fire lower for all those uppers.

Didn't notice that. That's a very tasteful mix of block1 and 2.

About 6 months ago, I came across an image of a block 2 with a tr21, and like a fool, I didn't save it. I'm guessing it was eod. I've ran my block2 with my tr21 before, and really liked it. Wish I could find that Image again.

Suppressed eject to 2 o'clock is no big deal. If it gets to the 1 o'clock, then we'll talk.

The lower backpressure cans the military uses do not hold enough gas in the system to call for a different set of parts to run suppressed vs. unsuppressed.

I've wanted to do one for a while, but I don't have the balls to cut down that rail. The 9.5” dd lite fsp is just a tad too long to run suppressed and requires a few picatinny sections to be cut off iirc. I guess you could run it without a suppressor

Example- (works great on an 11.5” though)

Too bad most 45 degree offsets don't place the RDS inline with the bore.

The JP Enterprises is the best one i've found so far that keeps the RDS as close to possible to the bore line when mounted to the top rail.

Could be the ARMS #31-OS mount in the system for the T1.

Looks like I'll be getting these two uppers from Onyx. Would love to know more about them if anyone can share their thoughts. Also, they will have AU prefix uppers for sale at noon CST tomorrow.

Has your rail already been chopped? If not, we're you going to do it, or send it out?  If I came across a beat up one I'd do it, but I'd have a hard time shopping one that's in great shape. Although that non fsp setup (2nd to last pic and last pic) would definitely be worth chopping a mint rail! I forgot about that one.

So a DD RIS II and cut down !0.3 Crane barrel would be "correct" for those?

Ty. I got the heads up they had some X prefixes left,  but I bet I got stuck with the one without a letter prefix. I wonder why one didn't have a letter prefix?

Eta- are these stripped uppers? Or do they come with fa/dust cover?

That's the conclusion I came to. There is a company with those initials, so my first thought was, "why would Onyx be selling uppers from those guys?"

That's perfect! Nice score getting one that's been used by eod. Are you going to clone the non fsb one?
