Jeez, what a build! What's the additional 3% to take it to 100%!?

Also, how did you match the lower paint so well to the upper? Looks incredible.

Would you consider this a NSW or USASOC build? The upper SN would be correct for a NSW (assumption) based on what I have gathered. I have the same upper SN range. Curious on your thoughts.

OK so here it is. It's far from 100%, but it looks good to me. The lower is one of the first run H&Rs so it's lighter in color than the subsequent runs. That's the main reason I decided to build this. 10.5" PSA nitride upper, phosphate, chrome lined, no logo PSA BCG, KAC rail, B5 stock and Colt carry handle. Lower parts are all PSA, but I have a bunch of phosphated small parts squirreled away for retro builds since they really only put out nitride parts these days.

Thanks!  I need a Colt H2 Buffer. I sold all of mine and now they aren't in stock anywhere.

I also need a UID but I'm struggling to find data on what info a NSW lower UID contains. Any help would be appreciated.
Real NSW rigs for reference.

Carolina Laserworks list the info here https://carolinalaserworks.ecwid.com/Colt-M4-M-16-0-75-UID-p87250208 as
-Cage Code-------5ZJP7 (for Crane NSWC)
-Part #-------????
-Serial-------obvious
But like I said, I'm not even sure if this is the exact info contained on their UID's.

As for the paint, finding paint as close as possible to the OG paint was the most important, I had some help there.  The rest was "aging" it to look used and match the patina of the upper. It was a very slow and methodical process.  I studied wear patterns on lots of different issued lowers to give me a baseline.  Used a number of chemicals to take paint off and wear it in, used carbon from a dirty upper to dirty up the paint on some "too clean areas", and mostly used a plastic pen tip to create small wear patterns.  I'm pleased the way it came out. It was my first time painting anything on a gun.

NSW.  I'm not sure I've seen ones marked like these used outside the Navy.  I know the newer 1000xxx uppers are used by both.  I'm sure people in here will know better than I do.  However, I consider this one a NSW.

I had the exact same issue you're having except I was using YHM muzzle devices. After looking around unsuccessfully, I ended up buying a YHM suppressor wrench. It's 1/8" thick and just fits in that very limited space. YHM part # YHM-2007. It has 3/4" open end wrench, 1/2" torque wrench slot and a spanner wrench. Only real downside is the cost, $25 plus $10 shipping. But they're having a 25% off sale now through July 5 (check the home page).

Honestly the way you set the clones up is the real deal. I agree with the post above, this is the essence of cloning. Its indiscernible from an real issued mk18 (because it pretty much is a real issued mk18) and i absolutely love it.
If anyone puts it to good use its you.

I know the data set for QR codes on PEQ-15, FN M4A1, Colt M4A1, and SU-230 that I’ve scanned from (not navy) follow the data set in the picture above. For some reason, I can’t copy the code and paste, since iOS will modify the code. Carolina laser works doesn’t use this data set, but uses a slightly different data set since he used to have a contract with the DoD, so he was unable to copy it. I asked recently and he said he could probably work something out. The assumption I’m making is that the data set is the same regardless of the branch. It would be cool if someone could take a photo so I can scan the Q4 code on the upper and lower of a CQBRII.

NSW seems to be running almost exclusively 4 prongs now, probably because of the ability to run trainer cans and simunition.

Crane removed the FSB, cut down 14.5" Govt barrels to 10.3" and threaded, dimpled the barrels for two set screws and gas port to .070"

Crane Colt bbl seen here with a FN 10.3" SOCOM factory bbl.

CD posted a ton of info on how this works. But BLUFF, crane started by cutting down colt 14.5 w/ FSB to a 10.3, dimpled, open gas port to .070 and adding a Coronet Low Profile Gas Block. Over time, FN started manufacturing 10.3 socom profile barrels virgin with OUT FSB and only w/ dimples added for the low profile gas block. Colt also produces 10.3 virgin barrels now but I have only seen them without dimples for the low profile gas block. I’m sure CD or other can provide more details if I’m off.

Did anyone ever field a 10.5 barrel? If so, were they FN's, LMTs, etc? Who would have used those if so?

Also, didn't someone post the specs to cut down to 10.3? I have a 6920, I'm thinking of making a mod 0 into once I have the block II finished.

Everytime I've been with MARSOC they only had 14.5" URGs so can't say.  But before 18' all SOCOM units 10.3" bbls came from Crane and were cut down to my knowledge.

I never came across a SEAL URG with a NT4.  Course, I only started in 14' on these program but many Army SF.  Embedded with SEALs in 16' and mid 21'- mid 22' and they didn't have any NT4s.  Who knows what is back at home station.

Good stuff. I forgot about the mk18 with x24 having the cob.

I always do this. I go back and forth between cqbr and mod 0. Mod 0 just has the perfect look but the cqbr honestly is still a really relevant shooter.

You always have the pictures, any good Marsoc pics with tan NT4's and EXPS?
