That upper is so badass. I hope everything works out and you don't have to sell it.

Very nice. Yeah, it's funny, if you read the last couple pages of this thread, you just went through the process of me figuring out my gun's coolness factor just increase exponentially, lol. Cheers fellow unicorn owner.

Also, here's the non-unicorn-FSP one, in action (if you can even see it, lol). I guess it's also kind of rare too, in a sense that most people probably bought the FDE upper/rail.

As you can see, I just took a screenshot of my youtube video of it.

That RIS fsp set up is beyond incredible.  If someone had the skills, the next time Brownell's derps and has them on sale below cost, they could machine a run of 10 and hook everyone up and make a little cheese on the side.

Tell ya what.  You fuckers give me a heads up when the correct rail comes up and we'll do a run........I've not had access to the 3 axis cnc for a couple months, but will soon.   Could run them on the 2 axis anyway.
Seriously.........I need the heads up.......I'm always a day late.

DANIEL DEFENSE - AR-15/M16 RIS II M4A1 FSP HANDGUARD
Is this the rail that is needed to do the modification to?   Brownells shows 399.99/clearance price.    What did they sell them before that everyone jumped on them?     ............and I wonder what their "dealer" price is?

Good chance. They ran that deal twice, FSP only. I'm glad he snagged me one because I regretted trading off my FDE RIS II for that TA01NSN.

I'm building what I call a plausible clone: all parts seen in-the-wild on various rifles and carbines, but nothing pieced together into one build. I've got the carbine FF RAS, Colt Fiberlite, KAC 300m rear BUIS, SureFire Scout, EXPS3, and a 12.5" barrel so it can host my AEM5. And some spray paint.

Yeah, value-wise that's like asking somebody to trade you their Colt for a Delton. I know it's stupid, but the Mk18 FSP RIS II is worth almost twice as much as your standard Mk18 RIS II because of rarity.

Also it's not 40 RIS II FSP rails. Heard from junkie when he ran into Iceman at a booth last year in Ft Walton that he believed about 1,000 were made.

I guess both values are hearsay, but I do believe the thread said 40 in it. Not that I could confirm that even if I wanted to.

You building one? I have a boner in anticipation....

Looking forward to seeing this.

Not sure if the clone gods will let me play in this thread with it, but you'll see it one way or t'other. Sent a lower off last week for engraving. Once it gets back, I'll submit the forms and let the wait begin.
