Spikes 16" upper with a Bushmaster lower:

4.5" upper with CMMG lower:

The front grips are modified "HK K-grips".  "bullet-cooker" here on arfcom makes these.  I've been looking for these for a while and these are perfect for super-short SBR's....  Tell him scottMO sent ya..

That SBR is too cool.  Must be a blast to take that out.

Is that the gas block that Spikes is using now, or is that from an older batch?  Mine is from early this spring and It's the one with 3 set screws up from the bottom.

I'm just curious.  I took my slotted block off and replaced it with a YHM front folder.  My eyes are getting to the point where I need glass anymore, so I don't think I should have bothered with the front sight swap.

What's your opinion of the Magpul front hand guard for comfort compared to the M4 hand guard?

I got this rifle about 8 months ago maybe a year I lost track. Not sure if the gas block is what they still use or not.

Here is my Spikes rifle when I first got it.

And how it looked soon after.

Then I bought my first BCM upper and I robbed the lower and replaced it with this Double Star and this is how it came out. As you can see the contrast of the two finish's is pretty severe.

Well it drove me crazy so I am righting a wrong and in doing so have come full circle. I like it best in this configuration. Excuse the crappy pic's, it was dark when I finished.....

Extractor tension is weak on a lot of .22s, rifles and pistols.  The easiest way to deal with this is to press the extractor against the case as you operate the charging handle.  Lack of extraction was a big source of frustration for me until I figured this out.

I really like your Spike's SBR, especially the C-More Tactical. Had one just like it, but sold it a couple yrs back. Wish I still had it for my Spike's SBR???

Picked up a dedicated .22 today, Colt M4 .22lr Carbine. More pics / testing results expected over next couple weeks. I sure hope it works as good as it looks, wonder why they added a non-functional dust cover though? Just a nasty snag waiting to happen I say. Hopefully it stops raining and my wife can go try it out.

Eyup Mark.

Hope you're well?

Yes, I gave up on the Tac-Sol in the end. Perhaps buying one was a mistake. Perhaps also, not shooting it for a long time was a mistake. In the end I lost confidence as it would fail to feed nearly every round. In the end i had lost all confidence in it so sent it back. I'm happy with  the ST22. The dodgy bit around the mag well is a little grip. I knpw it's probably a "no-no" for how you shoot, but sometimes find the magwell grip quite comfortable!

Just to join the rimfire fun .....
Picked up the M&P15-22 last Friday. I haven't got a chance to try it yet, possibly tomorrow.

Not much of the accessories. Other than the TangleDown QR vertical grip (already added), only the GG&G Sling thing forearm mount and the Blue Force Vicker's combat sling will be added (they're in transit).

My dedicated rimfire build:

RRA Tactical Entry Stock
UTG A2 Rear Sight (It's gone as soon as I get a quality carry handle)

It shoots great!

Well, after looking at 24 pages of great, tricked out rifles, I'm almost embarassed to show mine - it's pretty basic, but it shoots great.

I found that shooting .22 through my 5.56 uppers was a pain the ass because of how dirty they would get and I wasnt sure how bad the gas tube would be after a while..sooooo I finally built an upper!

DPMS SBR lower
YHM upper
YHM Spectre length FFrail
5.5 barrel
YHM SS Phantom
MI BUIS

I am working on getting a dedicated can for this as money allows. I use this can on occasion when I have to due to noise. Also. the mag is a clear skinny BDM that I masked with an old Thermold mag that I had laying around. Looks a little long but better than the skinny mag hanging out the bottom, it ruined the look. I'm on the hunt for smoked 27 rounders.
