My dedicated iron sight practice rifle.. which is kind of silly because the older I get the worse my vision is getting and in need of optics

+1 on the vision thing.  Always loved shooting irons but the front sights keep getting fuzzier and sometimes they multiply - two or even three of 'em....

Yes you both are OLD.  And you are doing it wrong.

If you are using the Iron Sights correctly.......... the rear aperture should be fuzzy.

Thanks!!  It was supposed to be 4.5" overall, but when ADCO cut it down they made it 4.75" for some reason.  I wish it had been right at the 4.5" I wanted, or a little shorter instead, since right around there is the critical length for keeping bulk pack ammo subsonic.  Most of my shots are subsonic, but I still get more ballistic cracks than I'd like.

I think it's a good product and it does what it's designed to do.  It's pretty much nothing more than that rubber stuff you find on the handles of cooking pots.  When you touch it after shooting, it's definitely hot, but not painful.  Heh, but you can certainly tell that the can underneath is REALLY hot.. you can just feel the heat radiating upwards.  I got it to make it easier to periodically check that the suppressor was tight on the barrel while shooting.

It's kind of a pain to get it on, but it comes with instructions on how to do it (they say to get the suppressor damp first).  Because of the grip's length, I would have had to take it off every time I wanted to clean my Sparrow, and it's tough enough to do that I decided it would be easier to simply cut the grip down by 3/4" or so.  That way my Sparrow protrudes slightly out each end and I can disassemble the can for cleaning, leaving the grip on the outer tube the whole time.

Did you remove the heat shield from the VIS? My can would not clear with it in there.

I did. Very easy to do so with a flathead screwdriver. That is the only way to get a suppressor under that hadguard.

I was reluctant to tear it off seeing how much the upper cost but you just changed my mind. Good looking SBR

Thanks again. Yes, I can see your dilemma. Really, I justified it by thinking VLTOR probably has replacement shields and a new one probably just snaps right on. Also, I bought the upper for the sole purpose of a dedicated .22 so the shield had to go.
