Barely mini, HK themed Block II.  Upper just came back from an amazing p/w from John Thomas at RAW.

That thing looks great! John Thomas does awesome work, he did a pin/weld for one of my projects this past summer. Kudos on the stock, i have one of those and really dig it.

Just wanted to say that I finally sucked it up and grabbed an nx8. I haven't put any rounds through an upper with it yet, but man it seems nice. The eyebox issue does seem a little overblown once you get it mounted and positioned correctly. I'm now looking for an upper to put it on. I have an NSW and it's a bit of a pig to carry around. It worked just fine putting a whitetail in the freezer this year though. I have a k can, and am trying to decide between a 12.5 and a 14.5 barrel. I have a centurion 12.5 midlenghth barrel that I could use for the upper, or could grab a 14.5. Those of you with "longer" uppers and K cans, how well do they balance? I have a turbo k with a titanium diversified machine mount for griffin mounts.

What do you mean "waiting for"? Are you waiting for some to come in stock? I have a 1.5 nf ul if I'd be willing to part with if you need one.

Gotta love a 2.5-10 that weighs less than a NX8 (16.8oz) and still has a parallax adjustment. Still awaiting offset rds components

In my experience, K cans on 14.5s balance pretty well with a light weight barrel. Heavier profiles will certainly feel a little “tippy” towards the front. The rifle of mine pictured above has a LW barrel and it feels remarkably balanced with suppressor.

That’s good to hear. I’ve got a BRT 14.5 barrel on the way to try out. I’ll probably end up assembling both the 12.5 and 14.5 to decide which one I want to keep.

I also have the 2.5-10 and it’s a good scope for the money. Especially what they go for used now. I have one on my NSW upper until I decide to get an x24.

I ignored the warnings of a couple friends and painted an optic; my offset T2. I don't plan to sell any of my Aimpoints so I won't have to deal with stripping it unless I just get tired of the look.

RAL 8000 Tenebraex caps came in for the S&B. Mini Mod H is finished.

@StinkPotJoe When did you order 14.5 BRT barrel? I have one on pre-order from September and its the last thing I need to finish a build.

I have a SF Mini 2 on a 13.9” Criterion Core and it feels fine to me. I don’t feel like an extra 0.6” would throw off the balance with a barrel profile like the Core. Granted, running that can on my 12.5” upper just feels more “handy”. There is also a couple inches less rail on that one which makes a difference.

I've got a 12" grendel barrel that needs a home and this picture makes the pri tube look like a promising option. Anyone have thoughts on which would work best for that setup? Will the rifle length work if I tuck a suppressor under?

The lower AR in the photo is a 14" BRT Mid-length barrel with a pinned & welded Warcomp. John Thomas (Retro Arms Works) did a beautiful job on the Warcomp. Clocking is perfect for a leftie like me.  Length is safely legal and the Socom-RC2 had the desired clearance to the 13.5" Geissele handguard. John's welding is above first class. On top of fantastic work he shipped the barrel back the same day he received it.

Just for reference, the upper AR in the photo is a 10.5" barrel with a 9.5" Geissele.

Yes but only under white light so far (Modlite PLH on the mini, OKW on a 14.5 recce).

Why wouldn't it work at night? Do you mean passive under NV? That's much more of a challenge with low power glass.

I've run a slightly offset top mounted micro dot with an LPVO passive with NODs. It's actually not terrible using a -14 on my non-dominant eye with the dot mounted about 11 o'clock on the scope tube. Allowed for a very vertical head position.

Would love to hear how the BRT performs at the range when you get a chance. Finally bit the bullet and ordered one.

No p-lock experience

Feels a lot more solid than the wedge lock. Granted I don't have much time on one.

I feel like I’m the only person that really ever liked the Accupower 1-8. I am thinking about another for the 16” I’m putting together even if it is a bit of a porker.
