Hey y’all, looking for some guidance on a suppressor for my in process mini Recce build. BRT 12.5 Barrel, NX8 to top it off soon. Want a shorter can, thinking Socom Mini 2 or Sandman K w/ 556 flash hider end cap. Any of you with 12.5 have any input on which would perform better in terms of sound / flash?
Thanks. |

View Quote No short can will be good on sound. You can add the flash hider to the sandman if the stock form still has too much flash |

I posted this thing back on page 1 but still never actually tried it out with the 1-6x, might do that tomorrow. 300blk just doesn’t get shot as much as my 5.56 guns.

More drop than the 5.56 but easy to manage with a good scope. Seeing Dev's new gun (With an LPVO) and the Johnny rifle inspired me to get into the .300 blk game. |

View Quote I actually have a small stash of the 110gr Barnes, I haven’t looked for it recently but I’m guessing it’s $$$$. If I remember correctly, it was around $35-$40 per 20 back in 2014. The cost is pretty much the only reason I don’t shoot the 300blk more often. Can’t beat the option to run subs and supers though. |

Very good glass, fairly light, solid track record, Steiner isn't going anywhere, simple reticle, etc. There's a reason why you see a lot of those on minis...It's a pretty natural combo for a 500 and in rifle. |

I have a couple of them in 1-6, but am looking at the 1-10 to put on top of my Infidel upper. I am also a fan of the Trijicon glass. |

I've taken it out to 510 yards with great success and love the weight and balance. However, I've recently begun to ponder new glass. While the 3-9 accupower is perfect for my uses currently I'm thinking this platform will be my shtf stick. I want to buy more robust glass. I'm looking at an NX8, Trijicon Credo 1-6, TA01nsn w/ rmr, Leupold Mk 3hd, Credo 1-4, Delta Stryker... I know these options are somewhat schizophrenic but my goals are all over the place too. I prefer simple uncluttered duplex type crosshairs. The only time I turn illumination on is when I'm seeing if the battery is dead. In other words, illumination is a bug, not a feature for me. While price is an important consideration, it's a little lower on the list. NX8 1-8: NF durability, but premium price for made in Japan, busy reticle Credo 1-6: Probably good enough durability, priced better than NF, busy reticle Credo 1-4: Can get a duplex reticle, down on max magnification Mk 3hd 1.5-4: Super cheap, down on max magnification, simple reticle with subtensions, can get unilluminated version Delta Stryker 1-6: Seems great, Polish designer (I'm Polish so ), unknown durability stateside TA01 w/rmr: Known durability, short eye relief, set and forget. My thinking goes if either the credo 1-4 or mk3hd 1.5-4, then why not get the TA01nsn w/rmr and be done? If getting a TA01 w/rmr why not step up to a better (adjustable) aiming device in the Credo 1-6? If getting a Credo 1-6 with a busy reticle, why not get the "pinnacle" of lpvo in the NX8? If getting an NX8 why not save several hundred dollars and get the Credo 1-6 with an equally busy reticle and slightly less max mag? If getting an optic with all the subtensions why not a simple 1-4 with the duplex I prefer? If getting a Credo 1-4, why not just stick with my accupower 3-9? Is it durable enough? I really like the 9x for shooting small targets like moles & rocks, so the NX8 seems like the natural evolution amiright? View Quote Made it to the range the other day. I didn’t shoot my precious Barnes 110s, but used Remington 120 gr instead. Zeroed at 100 yards and ended up figuring out the following holds. 300 yards: 4 mils 385 yards: 6.5 mils 500 yards: 9 mils Pretty fun, I can definitely see the usefulness of a LPVO on a short 300blk as opposed to the red dot I usually have on there. Don’t think 500 yard hits would be happening with a red dot. (For me at least) |

I've had this rifle for a while but decided to reconfigure it to be optimal for night and day. 1-4 LPVO is plenty for this pinned 14.5 while keeping it light. The RMR-DI mounted is perfect for running NV. The dbal-i2 has a nice visible/Ir laser, but no illuminator so the only thing I need to grab is a vampire head for the surefire. They make for an awesome IR illuminator. |

Any recommendations for a lightweight LPVO for my 13.7” mini recce that won’t break the bank? It’s got a Vortex Viper PST 1-4x on it currently. With a full mag and bipod, it’s 9.9#, which is kinda fat considering everything else is pretty lightweight.
13.7” BA Hansen with a pinned 249f, 12” fortis rail, with the only real ‘fat’ parts being the scope and rings. Attached File |

I’d ditch the bipod or just deal with it. You’ve got a good set up, no need to chase your tail for a couple ounces. |

I didn't realize the Viper was that lightweight in comparison. Might have to snag another one of them since Midway has them for $300 right now. |
