I'm contemplating a 12.5 build. There's a couple options in the EE, any benefits over a 11.5?

Velocity.

12.5" is my go-to for 5.56 rifles.

Although I have no 12.5 experience I think it would be the perfect length and nails the mini recce concept. If/when I finally get around to it I'll go 12.5

My 12.5 is neat...but I like the length of 11.5 more. With a 6"+ suppressor the 12.5 doesn't feel SBRish...

Here's mine.  Currently, this is my favorite AR15.  It's my 5th or 6th BCM upper.  Works great close up, and with 77gr SMK or Noslers, works great on 8" steel at 400 yards.

Specs:

BCM 14.5 Blemished upper w/Centurion C4 rail

NFA Billet lower

B5 Bravo stock

BCM Gunfighter Grip and Charging Handle

Leupold VX-R Patrol 1.25-4X

Larue E-SPR mount

Magpul XTM handstop and light mount

Surefire G2X

VTAC Sling

I wonder how an adjustable gas block would make the action feel on those

I have (2) 12.5s, and only (1) 11.5
One of my 12.5s is perfect, but will that change with the can?  The other got tamed with an H3 and is quite smooth.
My 11.5 is a LW, so I don't expect its manners to be perfect.  All you guys with the cans tell me that my AAC will change them all into overgassed beasts

New optic coming boys n girls!!! 1-6 with a bdc donut and nice price. If it's not a paperweight i might. depends on reticle drop chart. I prefer Mdots but for the price it might be a CMR bracket contender

I had one on order from DSG for $275...cancelled it and got a Leupold VX-R 1-4 instead. Despite the vortex being a vortex and having a great warranty- it's still a chinese optic with parts less in quality than the Viper PST series (it's a series under it). It's also pretty heavy and is 'probably' not daytime bright.

yup... i think it would have probably been about 1" if i were shooting at a target about 1" away haha.  I usually have a micro on that rifle and the scope actually made it a lot more difficult (for me) running it like that. It picked up a lot of flash which induced the girlish giggling.
