Attached File Attached File Now with more Perst. This was such a mess to get together but appears to be good. I need to get it out to 5-600 and see what's what but at first glance I think I'm in the clear. On a related note the urge to Elcan is getting really strong. I feel like there is no way I'll find it "better" than a Kahles but it's hard to resist. |

I had the opportunity to buy a Recce 5K, but made a poor decision and bought a RC-2 Mini. With the MIL/LE discount from Griffin I could have bought two Recce 5K suppressors instead of the RC-2 Mini. Buyers remorse is a thing, so that's that. |

All that being said, I really like my JK SBRX. hk gets a lot of crap, and some of it for good reason. But the SBRX is a solid can and can be a full size or easily modded to a K can or even shorter.. |

PHS22 was my first can, ran it on a 17.3" rifle, now it's sitting on a 10.3". I think i have like 5 griffin taper mount cans at this point... do need to get a 5k soon

Took my 6arc MR to a PR class yesterday. I was the only Gas gun there and everyone else had a 6.5 creedmore.i have a mk5 3-18 and the glass clarity really matters at extended ranges. Shooting 108 eldms @2450. Did a couple 3 round groups to check my zero. According to my public school math this is .507 in. Attached File Attached File Was able to hit steel at 907 4 out of 5 times.dope was 33 moa with about 310 inches of drop. 0 value on wind and about 60 degrees. Audio feedback on the steel was non existent beyond 700. Rifle is a 6arc with a bunch of noveske parts.14.5 barrel, upper, lower rail. Jp bolt. Geissele g2s trigger. Mk5 3-18 in a badger mount. Shooting with a bipod and rear bag mostly. I couldn't hang with the 6.5s. But a couple guys got out their 5.56 guns with lpvos and were hitting 1 for 5 at 500. I'd say that the 6mm round is no substitute for the heavier calibers. But is a lot lighter that the larger calibers. Attached File |
I just completed 2 SBRs that fit with this thread. They've both been in progress and tinkered with for awhile, but I just got them both out for the first time.  Top rifle is a 12.5" Noveske 5.56 carbine barrel, 10" Geissele Fed rail, Larue trigger, Microbest chrome BCG, Athlon 2-12 in a ADM mount. Bottom is a 12.3" Ballistic Advantage barrel, 10.5 G Mk16 gray Ano, gray cerakote upper, RRA varmint trigger, Trijicon Accupower 1-4 in ADM mount. Both rifles were 100% reliable with multiple types of ammo. Noveske barrel was noticeably softer shooting. I didn't shoot groups because the f'ing wind was howling, but did sight in and was busting clays out to 200 with both. I think the Noveske barreled rifle will get some time hunting predators this weekend. So far I'm really happy with both. This thread has been awesome for inspiring builds and money spent. |

Pretty happy with this setup so far. Going to try a clip on thermal in front of the MK5 pretty soon. Should make for a heavy, but handy, do-all rig.Attached File |

On paper, and in anecdotal testimony like yours, it seems like the "do it all". You can get serious distance with shorter barrels. I really want to build an upper soon. Too bad I've got other projects and "adult responsibilities"

Extremely impressed with this scope. Super light and small (for a thermal) and easily the simplest to use thermal I've owned or used. |

They are cheap but track. I like the reticle but it isn't great for fine precision shooting. For field shooting or shooting steel it is excellent. Illumination is pretty weak. For under $500 it is a great MPVO. They can be found for under $400 occasionally. I have 2 of them, one lives on a 308 bolt gun, and the this one has bounced around on a few ARs. No issues going on a couple years |

Funny you mention that, i am only having the issue with Okay 20rd mags. The issue tends to occur towards the last few rounds of the mag. Tried a known good Colt lower and still have issues. Gas is g2g, bolt locks back no problem. I had Dave open the gas port to .078 when he assembled to help shooting unsuppressed. Aem5 is inbound. I really really want to use 20rd mags with this gun but may have to ditch them for 30’s. |

That was as close as I could get the gap on that setup. Got a pretty cool mini NSW in the works that should be done soon. |
