Glass is stupid clear, adjustments are just tactile enough without being hard to use. Only thing I want to get is a low profile cat tail to make adjustments a wee bit quicker. 1x is pretty spot on, makes snapping the rifle onto target and getting shots off easy. 1x eyebox pretty decent too. Can't comment on daylight bright illumination, was a bit cloudy yesterday and my friend came in from out of town and was more interested in shooting my bumpsaw and new 1911

Pard has a colt-barreled CQBR build and just for shits 'n' grins we put my Viper PST 6-24 on top and threw some 69SMK loads through it at 100. Was averaging right about 1" (some a bit bigger, some a bit smaller). I know it's a sample of one and all that, but these days I'd be surprised if a decently-made barrel was shooting considerably worse than 1-2 MOA. My 13.7" at 4x and my highly-caffeniated bad-shot ass was pulling sub MOA pretty standard, but it's also a rock creek tube so....

I bought a 1-4x Vortex Viper PST yesterday and decided to build a Mini Recce around it.
I like SLR and Geissele rails but want to use something different so I am going to use a CMR rail. I am needing a 12.5" barrel recomendation and would like it to be a heavy barrel like this one from Black Hole Weaponry or this Noveske barrel. Are there any other 12.5" barrels I should be considering?  Attached File |
