Buying glass now, I'd go with a 1-8x; I use 2.5-10's because I already had some sitting around.  You know, as one does.

You can definitely shoot far enough to enjoy that 10x, the issue is what you're going to do for close-in.

My mini recce out hunting.  It's a BCM 14.5" with a Burris MTAC w/ ballistic AR reticle.

Took a doe about 10 minutes after this picture was taken.

I was gonna piggyback a MRDS if I go 2.5-10. Hell, I may still piggyback a rmr if I go with the razor 1-6. Those Reptilia rmr ring mounts look pretty slick.

I was going to suggest that you should definitely consider one of these as posted in the previous post regarding an up close.....but also a back up option

I am honored @loudxpack !! My bro-in-law and I put some rounds through the mini over the holiday. We were shooting off his front porch (standard procedure for NC smoky mountain folk) with the Mini4 and the sound was reverberating off the structure rather loudly, so I'll dub mine "The Loud Pack"

Placeholder for pic. ETA:

UE-07 came in the mail yesterday.
@loudxpack I'm jelly of your G rail. Been debating replacing the KMR with a mk13...but maybe I'll just build another upper in true arfcom fashion.

Also, thought you guys might dig this article about current mini recces downrange:

That's just where the engraving was done after the anodizing. I do agree though. I'm not sure if this one will get painted or not.

I really like that look. That lower looks awesome for sure! I'm going to be posting a new one soon; last piece arrives today but needs to go back out to D.Wilson (preferably) cause he specifically handles the piece or ADCO.

My NX8 was $1100,  Sport Optics, was on sale pre Christmas.

The NX8 is a great optic, but I will say the dot is big and is even bigger at 8X.  Don't rule out the Trijicon Accupower series, 1-8

For LPVOs I have the two mentioned and the 1-4 Accupower

Ranking them,  AP 1-8, NX8, then AP 1-4.   The AP 1-8 is a great scope.

I decided that I needed a longer rail on my 12.5 opposed to my 9.5 Mk14.  Since I am using a Triarc barrel, I thought I'd order their new (at least their version) TriLok 11.5" rail.  Hope to have it by the end of the week.  I've always wanted to try one of the wedgelock rails.  I've always liked the look of them.

LaRue Stealth SS match, though I wish I'd gone with a Douglas from CLE. Feels clonier even though this really ain't a clone. Might swap it out at some point. I really just need to shoot some groups with this thing to see how accurate it is.

Haha you're not wrong. I only got it because I've been wanting to do an 11.5" build and they just happened to release them at the right time. I'm just unsure on which rail I'd get if I do decide to let it go.
