High Calliber Sales are building phenomenal quality uppers. It can be debated which companies barrel is "the most" accurate or "the most" durable. Despite the outcome of any such debate, there is no question as to the quality of components High Caliber uses.

My unintentional Recce. I started this build before finding this term and I'm pleased with how well it fits and that I'm not the only one who's a fan of this racey, precision look.

Despite the outcome of any such debate, there is no question as to the quality of components High Caliber uses. I went with the HCS RECCE. Even had him put it on a new complete KAC SR15 lower. Dry firing has impressed me with the KAC 2 stage match trigger. Feels as good as the G's I have had, although I have heard of some issues with durability long term. If I wear it out, I will replace with a G. At any rate, the RECCE is sorted. My NF 2.5-10x32 showed up today, hoping the larger exit pupil will help with forgiveness at higher powers. Definitely built like a tank, turrets, as seems to be the norm on the NF's I have owned, are a bit mushy, but serviceable. I think this may be my favorite compact scope overall. My LT104 mount should be here tomorrow and I will assemble it and post some pics. Going to the range this weekend to run some MK262 through it. Then I will attempt to load my own version, assuming it shoots it well. |

The Hippie Clown will bring them down!!

My NF scope mount is in the mail. As soon as it arrives, I'll get the 2.5-10x24 in there and mounted to the 14.5" HK 416 upper. I mounted an old AAC 51t blackout a friend gave me. Then it's done. Pictures will be soon to follow

hey fella's, what's the lightest sub-moa 16" barrel you'd put on a recon?
maybe noveske or rainier match? or something else... i'm slowly adding parts to my "inspired" build and dont much care to have a front heavy bench shooter with a heavy barrel and miles of unused rail. |

I was looking for one for a while. |

I wonder how much dollars that is lined up.... I would love to shoot that HK and the first one, the BlockII with the Elcan. That one is sexy. |

That's far less than half the collection. Don't envy me, I have a real problem. Have you seen the 200+ page thread on the M4A1 Sopmod Block 2 guns here? If you like the gun, look the thread up. They are great. That one is one of my newest, and I've been shooting it a lot. Man, I paid a lot for that 416 upper. I got it from an industry guy and he let me make payments on it. I've had it for a few years. I put it away when my job got a 10.4" real 416 machine gun that I can use. But this thread prompted me to take my 14.5" upper out of the safe and build it. I haven't looked for one in a couple years, but when I was they seemed to be going for mid $3k up to $4k. I paid the higher end of that for mine. Mine is apparently one of the first ones with a much better barrel than current models. Because of that I have been offered a good bit more than what I paid for it, but I declined to sell it. While I'm generous on the trigger of all my rifles, I can't deny that I'm also a collector of sorts. I enjoy rare items that are as similar in quality as they are in scarcity. |

He has a standard package which includes upper, lower, rail, stock and pistol grip for $240. Extra parts are extra money. Scopes are between $75-$100. Smaller parts are inexpensive, but can add up (i.e. rail panels, magazines, vert grips, lights etc.). There's a price list on his site. The gun usually has to be 100% disassembled. Every roll pin and spring comes off. Turnaround is usually pretty reasonable. He's done over a dozen guns for our customers. Very good work. |

No variable power, looking for a magnifier to add though. That would bring it closer to the spec... |

If we have learned anything in this thread, it's that there really isn't a Recce spec. And if there is one, your rifle doesn't have any of it. I'm not trying to be an ass, just trying to keep things in perspective. |
