He was also asked to take photos of the components and his reponse was that it was hard to take photos of the mag not feeding. Out of the God knows how many tens of thousands out there. You have apparently a "bad" one. At one time I had a new Okay mag that jammed, and as we all know they are HIGHLY respected. Surefire WILL "make it right"! If you want to sell it, I'll give you $100.00 for it! Why? Because I have used Surefire Customer Service before. |

Not to pile on, but..........How much is the shipping fee in question? Seems to me if you can afford to pay that kind of money for a mag, another 10 - 15 bucks would not be that big a deal. Your mag will just end up a very expensive paperweight otherwise.
I would ship it back and then if the problem is their fault ask them to reimburse you or send some sort of swag back in the box. SC-Texas and I squadded with Team Surefire at Larue this year. They seem like very good folks to me. I am going to buy one of these 60 rounders just as soon as I can. |

| I agree with Fincho if I paid $130 for a product that did not cost nowhere near that much to make and had an issue with the product and was asked to pay shipping to return it I would be angry at them as well. Now I on the other hand would would have waited till my dealings with the company were done before I said that I did not care for them. I have heard of and seen for myself before something like this happen and when the company returned the repaired or replaced item they added something to the pot that more than made up for the cost of the return shipping. |
| Of interest, my 60 rounder loads 20 rounds, then the 21'st round is pretty heavy, as it engages the second follower. In other words, I have to push a lot harder on the 21st round to make it go in. After that, the rest of the rounds go right in. I have always noticed that spot, but today I counted the rounds, and it occurs at the 21st one. Would you try something for me? put pressure on the 21st round and at the same time tap the bottom of the mag down on your desk. See if you can get that 21st round in there, and after that it should load up the rest of the way no problem. I bet it is just a minor spot on the follower or the housing causing this. |
| I don't have mine anymore (didn't work on 458 SOCOM & only reason I got it) but looking at your pic at the top of the page the slot in the follower looks odd to me as I remember seeing mine. The slot that the divider slides through in the follower looks like it is too long. That may be the problem just a bad follower. I was surprised at the lack of quality of the follower. It looked worse/lower quality IMO than the older black plastic ones in a USGI mag years ago. Hopefully you will send it in to be looked at and let us know what was wrong with it. |

On the 100's I don;t know.....I'm waiting for 1 too. I have email alerts at the vendors when they get them I'll know.
BTW most every company out there does not cover shipping back to them,. It's $5-$6 to send it back priority mail to them. They offered to fix or send you a new one. So your trashing a company & then deciding never to deal with them over $6 in shipping charges? That's pretty damn stubborn in my book. |

UPDATE...
after bitching, someone at surefire reached out to me and offered to personally look into it and send me a shipping label. however last night against my better judgment i disassemble it one more time based on others suggestions. It appears to me that the lower follower was tilted until it jammed. I reassembled it and it seems to be working. I appreciate that someone reached out to me but i stand by being pissed off when it didn't work out of the box. and when i was to pay for shipping. as someone else said sure its only $15 but its $15 i shouldn't have to spend. Anyway they did offer to pay it after all even though it turned out not to be needed. And assuming 654654 people are going to jump on me i want to be clear that this was NOT working out of the box and this is not a case of me taking it apart and breaking it. However i'll admit that the first time i took it apart did not fix the problem but i'm hardy and engineer and IMO it should have worked out of the box. That said I feel better about surefire and their customer service even if i had to freak out to get attention. |

I suspected that was the case since the mags general failure mode is assembly related. I would also be upset that my new mag didn't work. Again, thanks for checking the assembly out. Kudos to surefire's rep for contacting you and taking charge of the situation. |

I could not give a shit less about the 60 rounders, whether they work or not. The ONLY ones I care about are the 100 rounders, and nobody is posting a damn release date for them. On midway it states "Date expected in stock: 9/26/2011" Of course it will change until they actually do get them in stock. Anyway I put one on backorder so when/if they get some in I'll get one.
