Since my last post (not even sure when that was, but it was a while ago), I've really scored some good bargains on mags.
last summer I picked up 40 used GI mags for about $5 a pop, a bunch of HK super mags for about $15 a pop, and recently 20 NIW Center's for $6 a pop. And I was busy buying mags after Sandy Hook, and never paid the overly inflated prices. My collection, as of my last inventory, as it stands now is: 20Rnd 5.56 AR mags: 129 30Rnd 5.56 AR mags: 66 BetaC 5.56 AR Mags: 3 32rnd 9mm AR Mags: 17 BetaC 9mm AR MAg: 1 I'm pretty sure that's correct, but I might be shorting my 20's... Need to go through them again to be sure, apparently... |

True. I'm just using the old military standard that loading 30 compresses the spring too much. Probably totally false, but just erring on the side of caution. Hah, not sure what military that is. Just saying, we loaded 30 in the Corps. Maybe it's an AF thing or something...."guys" can't smack a mag home ;) As for the topic, I only have like a hundred mags, nothing compared to most guys here! |

Which boxes/cans is everyone using to store loaded mags with dust covers standing upright? None of my metal cans will close all of the way with the mags standing up.

40 AR mags, its more for collecting and getting all the different ones. Have a few 10s, mostly 30s. 2 x Surefire 60rds, then there are Magpul M2 and M3s, USGIs, Hera, Cammenga, CAA, orlite, Troy, HK, and Lancer. I'd like to load up on more Troys and Lancers. I'd also like to try out more Cammega and try out a Tapco.

I'm buying 40-49 USGI mags tomorrow for $5/each which means I'll be good for a little while longer until the next deal comes around.
Unfortunately I don't have near enough ammo to even come close to loading up all my mags/drums/belts/clips...and I'm sitting fairly well on ammo. |
