Maybe @ELittlefield would like to ship his back for an exchange so we can test his and figure out what went wrong with it? I think I'll give it some break in time. I don't want to give the impression that it's a bad device, I'm quite happy with its function and price point. At this point, the selector is the bigger annoyance than the trigger pull, so I think I'll just wait until those are available, and in the meantime put 500 or so rounds through the gun, and re-evaluate it as a whole when it has the better selector. Someone in this thread or the other mentioned special lubrication, and I checked the Partisan website and wasn't able to find a specific lube point. Is there anywhere I should be paying particular attention to? Or should I just splash some EWL down there and cycle it for a while? |

Your standard AR carbine buffer has 3 sliding weights inside it made of steel. That's not good enough for FRTs. An H1 replaces one of those steel weights with Tungsten. An H2, replaces 2 with Tungsten. An H3, all 3 are Tungsten. Most carbines with FRTs need an H2 or H3 to run properly. Solid buffer weights do not work. |

Ok, that makes sense. Hopefully Partisan will have some kind of upgrade discount for the early adopters. |

I made a "well no shit Sherlock" discovery today. I have my disruptor installed in my only SBR lower and I switched the upper out for my 4.5" 22 upper to do a little bit of plinking and realized that the trigger requires an m16 carrier even in regular semi auto. Looks like I'll have to get the trip kit and figure out how to get the 22 working with the frt sooner than later. |

Yessir, that lever at the top rear is a safety that needs to be depressed by a full auto BCG tail or a trip. |

At minimum you'll need an FA trip as you know. I'd reccomend the bore buddy FA trip as it's adjustable and worked better for me than the CMMG in my RR. Once the trip/timing issue is solved bolt bounce will be your next likely hurdle, Bore buddy's adjustable weight has worked best for me. You'll likely need more stuff Recoil Spring tuning kit was also helpful to me. Better extractor is a plus as are stronger extractor springs. Since you're already placing an order, get a spare firing pin or two and springs, for me stock firing pin springs worked best. You may need a buffer pressure plug, even if you don't it hurts nothing to have in place. Same with the charging handle insert unless your using a dedicated 22lr CH. Getting cases stuck in a regular CH is a PIA and the insert stops this. Lube is also important, I did run mine wet with oil but man the dirty 22lr powder turns any oil into a slurry quick when brrrting! I've since moved to dry lube, hornady one shot clean and lube(NOT the case lube!) Or WD40 branded dry lube works very well and works longer than oil in my experience. Added bonus, most of the carbon just wipes off when using a healthy coat of dry lube. Not sure if this will be an issue with the Partisan. When I was using an SS, just a little too much finger pressure on the trigger would result in a dead trigger. I'm using a MARC now and it's much less sensitive to this. Bottom line, treat the trigger like a lady and be gently until you know she likes it rough ![]() Use good ammo to get it functioning. CCI mini mag is probably best for this. Once you get the big bugs worked out, you can fine tune the bolt weight/recoil spring and run pretty much any ammo. I mostly use federal bulk in my 4.5". I've also shot blazer, auto match, aguila in various flavors, Norma tac22, CCI sv, quite semi auto and mini mags of course. I'm probably forgetting a few... some were easier to tune then others, CCI quite was a real PIA starting out with good quality HV ammo will help avoid tuning frustrations.Good luck! |

Getting a 22 running FRT is a chore and a half. The solution that eventually did it for me is the Atrius with a Rise Armament Rave 140 trigger, and a Bore Buddy Super Safety trip. |

My upper hasn't been great from the get go. Before I built the upper, it was a cmmg conversion. It ran like a top with federal bulk packs in every upper I used it in. Once I bought the barrel and collar, it short strokes on the same ammo unless I keep it sloppy wet. I was actually going to see if it had the same issue with mini mags today when I discovered that it wasn't going to work on that lower. |

Still no shipping from Cloak for me. I guess if I'm lucky it will be early next week, but at this point I'm not expecting anything until after New Years.

I had similar issues with my dedicated 22lr upper being less reliable than my conversion bolt. Eventually I realized it was the mags! Different mags will feed at different angles. Charge the weapon and see if the bullet hits the feed ramp too low or is shaving lead. If that is the issue try a few different types of mags, cmmg has different generations and there are a few aftermarket options. |
| My issue is usually double taps when I don't want it. I'm 99% sure it's the bolt not resetting the hammer, then the hammer following the bolt back forward. |

Fixed the mushy selector by just hitting the detent stops with a small burr to deepen them. Much more positive clicks now. Still going to pick up a Griffin 60/120 as a replacement. I'm sure this is 100% frowned upon by Partisan but if it works it works. Attached File |

The selector definitely needs deeper detents. Flipping from safe to semi to FRT is gritty, and does not lock in place sharply like other high quality selectors. The right side of the selector does not have an indicator pointing to the marking on the receiver. It dry fires correctly. Racking the action in semi auto bumps the trigger forward, just like the Rare Breed, and unlike other designs like the ARC-Fire and Atrius. I'm looking forward to live firing, but my initial impressions do not say "best FRT on the market." For 66% of the price of a Rare Breed, it seems to be pretty much as good, and of course if you hate Rare Breed for their patent lawsuits you'll be delighted with this one. Yeah, I don't remember anything about a pre-order with takedowntool. Edit: I see it now. Towards the bottom of the page. "JUST LIKE THE AD READS ON ALL SOCIALS WHERE IT IS POSTED. THESE ARE PRESALES Shipping out right around the end of the year." What's with the all caps? |

I mean whatever nothing happens the last few weeks of the year anyway so im not shocked or upset about it. In the original big thread they (partisan) definitely oversold the availability of these. Drop date 10 days before Christmas was kind of foolish IMO and then to have them only available from places nobody has ever heard of... |
| I would be patient, all the shippers are over loaded this time of year until mid January. I agree that the launch timing wasn't the greatest, but given the scope of the launch delays are expected. My Midway USA order just took 13 days to arrive when it's normally 2 from order placement to on my doorstep. |

With that said any of the big names could possibly be modified to work. FCD, Griffin, Radian, KAC, Badger, etc. Just a heads up as I have noted in other threads, selectors are hardened steel. Regular files don’t like them. Abrasives, carbide, and diamond are going to be your friends here. |
