Bren 2 Carbines are going for ridiculous prices on Gunbroker now.  $2,400-2,500.

Woah really?! I’ve never actually checked to see how much length a warcomp adds. You can pin a warcomp onto a 14” barrel to get past 16”?! Shit... I may need to track down a 14” Bren2...

Damn... decisions decisions. I thought I was set on a 16.5” carbine. But I do think the handguard is a bit ugly lol. But the 14” could also do with a longer handguard... ahhh

My thoughts exactly. I did the same thing with the Scorpion. I like both pistols better then the carbines. I love the warcomp also, and that will be my route for sure.

Cz Usa facebook moderator finally responded to my question about Bren 2s being sold. Here is what he said "We sell a number of firearms each year that are not standard production items, from unique color variations and distributor exclusives to previously discontinued and/or limited production guns. Thanks!" So I guess its legit. Never knew there were 20 round mags for x39 models. I hope sell a 9" S model soon.

The Deadair Flash Hider should also add enough length because it's 2.7"

HBI Handguard  gets it a little longer and looks a lot better than the carbine I think

Nope, I never knew there were 20 rounders available either. CZ-USA occasionally DOES sell some interesting oddballs every now and then, keeps collectors going nuts. I am very happy with my 11 inch 7.62x39mm BREN 2 MS.

Do we know what configuration the Czechs are going with for their military? And I assume the military probably got lighter profile barrels, right?

Czech military uses 8” 11” 14” 5.56 S models and .308 Br. Hungarian and French use the 9” 11” and 14” x39 S Models.

Does anyone know if HBI, or anyone makes a decent handguard for the 14" pistol that is more than 8 inches long?

I have an 8", but am trying to decide on wether to buy a 14" pistol or 16" carbine. I would prefer a 14" pistol but the handguard is awful and I want one at least 12" long.

Thoughts?

Depends how you define "gas system". If the question is if 8,11and 14 pistols have the same length of system, then the answer is yes. If we start getting more detailed however the answer is more or less no. I've gone over many of the differences in a few post throughout the thread if you dig for them.

Realistically you need the entire barrel assembly. (Barrel, gas tube/regulator, piston head, may as well throw in the op rod and piston return spring for simplicity's sake.)

Does anyone have any experience with pinning the dead air flash hider to get the Bren to 16 inches? Do you have to add shims?

HBI makes a magwell adapter (its the standard CZ 5.56 magwell adapter) that fits into the lower receiver.  This allows you to use 7.62X39 AR15 mags.

No idea if you need shims but I emailed Dear Air and they confirmed that it should meet the 16" length with it. All the 14"s seem to have sold out the second i decided i wanted to do this so i'm going to have to wait to find out.

They use a drop seller, it's an affiliate dealer that sells through them, so those brens 2s come direct from whatever dealer it may be, those 2s seem legit tho

That drop shipping stuff sucks. I bought a 14” pistol and 8 days later it still hasn’t shipped. Vendor said it ships from their “Texas warehouse”. Funny the add didn’t mention it and they didn’t tell me until 8 days after taking my money. Oh well it will get here eventually I guess. I’m sitting here with a stock and a box of 922r parts ready to go! 😡

Was I not clear with what I just said?

Are you a manufacturer or can you purchase on department letterhead?

If not, you're the average Joe and the answer is NO.  No select fire for you because the overlords have deemed you unworthy.

If you are one of two of the above, you probably already knew that which is why your question here is odd.  CZ has a mil/leo wing that can field answers to your questions.

Given its price, its not a bad addition.  I would actually prefer the factory trigger if it didnt have so much damned over travel.  I feel like half its overall travel is after the break lol.

I haven’t got mine yet but it should come in this week.  Before I bought mine I called the seller and double confirmed that the description was correct.  At the time of purchase they said it would be drop shipped to my FFL in a couple of weeks.  I have since asked the seller’s warehouse guy check and he says the description is still 2S.

I told them I am not interested in a 2MS, so we’re both hoping the description is accurate.  I’ll let you know as soon as it gets here.  If true, I’d like to get a second one to convert to 5.56.

You were very clear. Thank you. I guess I thought I was also clear. I don’t have overlords. I don’t live in the United States. Where I live the laws that you are subject to don’t apply to me.

What I want to know is, can the US version of the Bren 2 Ms be converted to select fire with just a trigger pack replacement (which I would be purchasing legally for legal use) or does it require additional modification, or is it not possible.

I understand that for legal reasons some of you might be afraid to answer such a question in a public forum like this. Well why don't you stop being so cryptic and tells us where you do live? I would like to know where civilians can legally buy full auto weapons with no restrictions?

Also, why would you want the US version? I think most here would prefer the European version if it was available to us.

I mean, you instantly went to asking about full auto, and giving weird, vague answers when asked questions about if you had the actual credentials required to obtain full auto firearms.

I went and sand and mud tested my 8" Bren 2 5.56 and my Daniel Defense Mk18. Bren 2 did great with the sand but the mud Killed it after 1 round fired. MK18 worked great with both sand and mud. To be fair to the Bren, I had just fired 30 rounds of wolf prior to doing the test. Probably didnt help it much. I will try again in a couple weeks. I had really hoped it did better with the mud. Never would have thought an Ar15 would have done better. Lesson learned here: Keep your weapons out of mud.
