| Prolly been beat to death, but I think that is the most beautiful freaking rifle I've ever seen. I'll get one of each color when they release a civ version. |
| Looks like a good weapon, but judging by the time it has taken the UBR and Lower receiver to get to market............I HIGHLY doubt 1st qtr 2008 is anywhere close to accurate. Wasn't it like 7 months ago and the lower was supposed to be out by christmas, then by shot, now delayed till ?????. Vaporware......till proven otherwise |
|
You’re misinterpreting information we have provided. Seven months ago the lower was just an idea. Don't judge the Masada productivity based on our other projects. BTW, off for more live fire tests of the Masada tomorrow. See you first quarter of 08’. I'll do what I can to get some vid of the "vaporware" in action for you Ridley. |
As they say on the WoW forums.....pwn't |
This gives me hope. |
So even if they didn't release them until the second quarter of next year...it'd still be in before any major bannings come to the table!!!! This will be my next rifle purchase! (minus the upper I'm building now) |
|
I am very anxious for this rifle to come out too. I am suprised at the people asking for an exact date though. Every other manfuacture that posts a date and misses it by one day gets called all kinds of names and accused of making a shotty product because they can't "keep there word". I'm sure Magpul has seen this and will not give a firm date. We will get it when it is ready. I would rather have a great product than a hurried slapped together one. I'm just happy to see something new. Jeremy |
Of course you'll be waiting more than a year while the rest of us have our cool bullpups. |
True, but I will be saving some money( can one have BRD and save money?), and my AR-15's will keep me company until then
|
That would be nice. However, I won't hold ya to it this time, like last time, when pictures were promised and incredibly, none were posted. |
How about we just do the best that we can?
|
that's all anyone can ask for right? Man I needs me some Masada! |
start here |
As promised here is a video of 7Kopper and I shooting the Masada prototype today. Masada 2nd test video (Windows Media Video) This was the first time we two had the chance to hand fire it. Very flickable from target to target and very mild recoil. |
| So I was very happy to get some trigger time on the Masada too! Smoooooth, real smooth. The Masada feels so much skinnier than the AR platform. I've probably shot more 556 out of AR's this month than in the last year (PMAG). While I love my AR's the Masada fits and feels nice. Mild recoil and a slim profile....I like it. Have no doubt, we're on task. |
Nice vid. I would love to have a long railed setup w/ a 13.7 lightweight barrel!!! I think it would balance nicely..but then again not ever laying my hands on the Masada...how can I be sure. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry if this has been covered but how much FA testing has been done w/ it? I'm sure plenty but is there a vid out there of that....just some nice BETA mag dumps!?!?! I think I've seen all the vids but maybe not. |
| Man, I will be glad when it comes out...........If I have to get rid of the AK to get it, I shall........and with indecision creeping in, I will have to hold both, and read the range reports I know will be on here before I make the final choice. But it's nice to have that choice |
|
What is the barrel length on the test rifle in the video? BTW ... here is link to the same video on youtube |
Based on my knowledge and observation... *Uses a short stroke piston system (cleaner, more reliable) *Uses common AR15/M16 barrels and bolts (with addition of barrel lock-lug & gas system)... almost unlimited possibilities here! *Ambi controls (mag & bolt release, user set left OR right charging handle) *Monolithic rail receiver (see Robinson XCR/M96 and FN SCAR) *Multi-caliber capable (AR barrel/bolts; includes 6.5MPC, 6.5Grendel, 6.8SPC, 7.62x39, .300Whisper, .338, .450Bushmaster, .50Beowolf... again, almost unlimited possibilities!) *AR mag or AK mag lower *AR15 trigger group *Folding and collapsable stock (like SCAR but with battery storage) *Choice of handguard (full, compact, RIS) *Full length rail top with folding BUIS *Ergonomic *Lightweight My God, what is NOT to like about this baby? If the current line of Magpul products is any indication of the quality of the Masada, this rifle might surpass anything available on the market! If Magpul does the following, this might be THE firearm of the 21st century... *Sub caliber conversions- 9mm is popular mostly thanks to the RRA upper/barrels/bolts/magwell adapters and Promag/CProduct mags... a 9mm version or at least bolt for a RRA barrel/magwell kit, would open a LOT of doors from LE (penetration & supression issues) to civilian (indoor range use). *.22LR adapter- Now that Black Dog Machine Co is making polymer mags for the popular Ceiner conversion kit... and the popularity of other deticated uppers, a .22 conversion kit for the Masada would wind up being the #1 accessory consumer post-sale (along with spare gas system/barrel lock lugs... AR15 barrel kits). Hey, sit back and let these guy's do what they are capable of. Personally, I know things like the UBR and other stuff thay threw out there to test the winds might suffer but if you REALLY LOOK AT THIS RIFLE... this may be the best thing to happen in this community and the best part? THEY ARE OFFERING IT TO US... THE CIVILIAN GUNOWNER! ![]() ![]() ![]()

It looked very mildly recoiling. I guess the Masada is slimmer than the AR where you hold it. [Borat]Very Nice![/Borat] |
